Bugatti, not Ducati

No Worries

Took the wife and dog in my Jeep up to Mt. Evans today. At over 14,000 feet, it's the highest paved road in America or even the world. I used to take my bike up there all the time, until the Forest Service started charging. It's $10 for cars and $3 for bikes. Because of thunderstorms, you want to be off the top by noon. It was 84 in Denver, and 24 (with the windchill) on top. Slim two-lane, 1000-foot drops, no guardrails, a zillion curves, and frost heaves in places. The views are spectacular with usual sightings of Mountain Goats and Big Horn Sheep. Several years ago, we came across some new Porsche's where they were testing the fuel injection. Today we came across some new Bugatti's. They didn't even drive them there, they were shipped in a moving van. Anyone know what model this is?

The Veyron goes for 1.2 million. The top speed is 253 MPH. The cab is made of carbon fiber. The wing on the back will flip up during high speed braking to provide more stopping power. There's three different ride settings. Not sure of the names of the settings anymore. there was a layout in Car and Driver. They only make about 50 a year. 0-60 in 3 seconds! I forgot all other specs but I still got the mag at home. I'll have to check it out.

I don't know what model it is, but it belongs in my garage.  It's the Veyron. It chimes in at 1001 HP and 922 ft/lbs of torque. 0-60/2.9 sec, 0-100/6 sec, 0-200/22 sec. Guess what tires it has...Michelin Pilot Powers! They made a special 200+ MPH street tire. I read the atricle this morning. It's got all wheel drive w/ automatic adjustable torque. The front or rear can have 0-100 percent if needed. Pretty impresive stuff. They said if you punch the gas at 180 it feels like a Z06 punching the gass at 100. Sickness!

I would love to see one of those beasts in person.
