Maybe I'll open my own refinery buying the cheap oil at AutoZone.

How come the price of gas hasn't gone up in Europe? If there really was a shortage, their prices should be going up too...

I wish I could agree here in NJ. Last week I changed the oil in the wifes car, I always buy the 5quart jug for about $12.to $15.00. This time it was $19.00 for the same oil. I thought I had the wrong one then I looked at all of the others and sure enough they were all about $20.00 a jug. Look out it could be hitting shelfs near you.

My buddy at the auto parts was telling me yesterday that the price increase has final hit the oil shelf. I'm guessing its because it is made in mass quantities, stored and then sold to stores. That would cause a delay in the price increase.

You can go to the biggest auto parts store in the nation, and you won't find bottled motor oil that has been put in that bottle since last tuesday. They charge based on what the price was THEN, not now. Expect it to go up over the next month or 2.

Isn't gasoline made the same way? Yet prices change daily. Yes but, less stored and more sold.
