Then yesterday he said I need to drive him to Philly PA 2 hours away this morning and I need to be here at 5 am...Well I was here at 5 am...he didn't get here until 5:45 am...and he's still not even ready and it's 6:10 am....WTF!!! This is stupid!!! but what can I do...he's the boss...He wants to do work on the laptop while I drive...WTF

When I had crews out working, If I called them in early, or on a weekend project, I fed them breakfast. Two reasons... 1) made sure they didn't "run out of gas" before project was completed 2) I knew they all had at least 1 meal that day. Of course, some of them needed breakfast and coffee to kill the "shakes" from Friday nights activities so they could actually work...

tell him you didn't get to eat any breakfast because you had to be in at 5 am, so he can buy breakfast... :iagree: I really like my new boss, he doesn't get on me for being a few minutes late, and in return I happily work over for a few hours for him. He's also willing to give me the time off for motorcycle trips, so I trade off giving him OT when he needs it. That's a good boss to me, willing to work with you.

Bosses that pound their chest to remind everyone they are incharge really dont have a clue and useually sink the ship. It becomes a one sided operation. As a once was boss, I listened to my peeps because I believed there was no way they come to work every day and dont know anything. They are the front line and a lot of their ideas would improove or smooth out a job. I work by two rules. If it was built by a man it can be fixed by a man. Dont be afraid to dig in. And: Give a lazy a Job!! He will find an easy way to do it. No2 is my favorite and the truth.

OK I just got back...I was wrong about the location..We are located in Harrisburg PA and we were going to Pittsburgh which is about 4 hours away to make it worse instead of the 2 hours to Philly I thought we were traveling. Anyway my boss is real strict about us techs being organized like gas in the service vans before we leave, everything loaded up the day before with a check list etc. Well that's one thing my boss wasn't this morning. He was trying to finish and print CAD drawings on the plotter at 6:15 which we should have been on the road at 5:20am. We finally get in the car and I am about 3 miles down the road and he starts :cursin: I forgot the directions! I asked him do you want me to turn around..he said no I will call work about 7 or so and get them. Then he starts :cursin: again....He forgot the drawings on the plotter and he needed those for the meeting! So I had to turn around. He goes in the office and grabs the drawings and puts them in the car and gets back in the front seat, and shuts the door. I then said did you get the directions? He started :cursin: again...no I knew I had you here for something. So he goes to get those. Well we finally head out which its already 6:45 am. Then he starts :cursin: again he forgot his coffee cup  While I am enjoying my nice hot cup of coffee I decide to light up a :smoke: so my boss reaches back into the backseat to get his laptop case and he starts :cursin: again! He left his cigs in his new car he bought last night. So I gave him one. We :wbs: for about 30 minutes or so then he falls asleep for an hour. :wtf: I go to :smoke: again and he wakes up and decides to get out the laptop to do some work. Well he starts :cursin: again....now he forgot his USB jump drive in his desktop back at the office. So he finds something else to work on. He works for 20 minutes or so...then he falls back asleep! Once we arrive onsite we met the (GC) General Contractor and a few other people from the electric company. We are putting in computerized digital Theatrical Lighting in a church/school in case you wanted to know. We spend two hours in the meeting, and I took digital pics of the 1/2 completed church. Then we leave and he falls asleep thru 1/2 of the ride home. I drove 475 miles today in a new little cavalier with no cruise control :cursin: My leg was so numb when I got back. I really hope we stay in Pittsburgh when this project comes up...this drive is a killer, and cops are all over the turn pike. My boss tried to tell me the speedo is hot when you get passed 75 mph and its not accurate well :wbs: I'm driveing and it's my ticket so I'm not going to risk it. This is my  for the day!

That sounds like one hell of a day... Oh yeah one hell of a day is right! I fell asleep on the couch right after I wrote all this, but getting up at 4 am is no fun! Lucky me I only have to work 3 hours tomorrow and I got my 40...so I get another long weekend for me. My boss said I can go in late if I want, but I'd rather go in at 7 and get the day over with. We have flex time so normally I can go in anytime between 7a-8:30a...but then again go in early and get off early.

I mean no harm brother. Whats the status of the new ride? Well I've got a guy ready to buy the exhaust and carbs, and another guy intersted in the Fox shock, so once those are sold, I should be able to pay the SV off. I am still looking at the R6, however according to yamaha's website the design for the R6 doesn't look any different then the 04, 05. They have an S on the side with a fancy yellow. I am a bit disappointed they didn't do the face lift on the R6, like they did on the R1. However if you remember the R1 usually gets the face lift a year before the R6 anyway. I think I might just be try to find a slightly used 04, or left over 05 with 1k-5k miles on it. There is always people that buy and don't like, can't afford, baby on the way, wife making him sell....etc. This winter is my goal to buy. This season is about over anyway...so I will shop, do the research and find the right deal...I've got about 5 months before the dead line hits. Besides winter is the best time to buy...they go cheap!
