Hi more pictures and a few numbers here: http://www.motards-online.com/motorcycle-tests-reviews/news_242_Kawasaki-ZZR-1400-2006.htm They claim torque is 10 mkg at 2.000rpms (NOT MAX TORQUE!!!)

Looks like some giant chewed a BMW K, Blackbird and a ZX12 then puked up that blue gob of bike. but that is just me and my :2cents: Without these bikes, the market would become stale. I bet they sell like crazy to the straight line speed freaks. Nice color tho!

Exactly JK... it isn't a super sport bike... its geared towards those high speed tour type guys...

Nice looking. I want to see how it compares against the Yamaha FJR1300. Gimmie this 1400, some soft saddlebags and I'll see you in Utah. And the reason why I would want a 1400 is for the gobs of beautiful, wonderful torque.

The more i think on it, the more this segment seems smart. You cover alot with one model. you have the pure sport tourers covered, the drag racers, the show offs, and iron butt types. smart.

The problem is you may have covered them all but the bike becomes so diluted that is has no focus or identity. :2cents:

The problem is you may have covered them all but the bike becomes so diluted that is has no focus or identity. :2cents: thats true, but i take the 'busa as an example. It does all those things but not too focused on one, leaving the owner to mod if needed to fit his/her inetnded use. i guess you can say its a flexable platform. mabye they kawi will make a more focused bikes from this one a-la buell.

I just got back from the dealer show and it looks good in person. Much better than the 'busa IMHO. Very comfortable to sit on for a guy my size, I could see doing some serious long distance riding on this thing...of course with power in the 200 range, short trips should be fun too :D Larry

The first after market accessory needs to be the side grill eliminator kit. Much better without. Check out the quick Photoshop hack here: http://homepage.mac.com/davidchuba/PhotoAlbum83.html :ffedback:

I dont mind the grill much. Its diffrent for a bike these days but i think it sets it apart some. But yeah its way clean without it. http://homepage.mac.com/davidchuba/.Pictures/Photo%20Album%20Pictures/2005-09-17%2021.09.18%20-0700/Image-7B28F29427F911DA.jpg

They didn't have much too offer in the way of specs. The rumor is they are very close to 200 at the crank, keep in mind the tach only indicates 11,000 rpm so it must have boat-loads of torque. Weight was not disclosed either, it felt lighter than the last ZX-11 I sat on but definitely not as light as the ZX-10R. I also heard someone mention it will still be limited to 186 mph per the agreement/requirement that they not exceed 300 kph. While the side grills may not be the most attractive (they don't really bother me), it really looks like they are functional in controling the air flow from the radiator area. The bike is full of small details that look like they were developed in the wind tunnel instead of by a designer...form follows function approach. IIRC, availablility was listed as February but we are expecting late March or April to be more realistic. Larry

That is awesome stuff Larry and POD.... And 200hp at the crank would be AWESOME...and about 150-170 at the rear! :yikes: :dthumb: Add that with gobs of torque and that thing might just be insane!!!

That's interesting. Did you tell the cc size or just ask on appearance? I just sent the photos. No info at all. l simply asked which bike they liked the best. Neither knows much if anything, about bikes, but that is what I was interested in finding out. How do people with no preconceived notions or expectations like the design. Two of the people I asked were graphic design professionals who are very good designers. :twfrox:
