My name is Charlie Lifer. We have a sportbike club in the Huntsville, Ala. area with about 70 of us on two web sites, www.valleysportbikers.com, and Yahoo talk group TVSportbikes. We have a phone list of over 150 of us at this time. We have a wide variety of interests from road racing, to track days, to drag racing, to Deal's Gap enthusiasts, to sport riding, and finally sport touring. We go to some of the AMA and WERA races to watch and participate. We ride every Sunday, weather permitting, at the intersection of state HWY 53 and US 72 at 10 am. I ride an 03 GSXR1000 and just sold my track day bike. We try to educate all of our new riders on safe riding in safe gear while at the same time riding knee-down at times.

I drove by the Shell station at Jordan Lane and US72 this weekend and there were at least 50 sportbikes congregated there! If I wasn't in the family-mobile with the family I would have stopped!!!

Where are all of you!?

Hey Shanman, I got your email today, and replied to it.
Pay no attention to the first line in my email, as I am an idiot :bonk: ... I knew you were from Huntsvegas from this thread.

We (TVSC) meet every sunday at 10am at that Sonic on jordan and 72. You should come out and ride with us.
I wasn't there yesterday, I was on my way back from Two Wheels Only in Suches, GA for the big Buell meet... MAN you want to talk about a good time. I think that place has become my new Dragon.

Also, we are going to start doing a Thursday bike night at Sammy's on University... If I remember correctly, that starts this week.

They are going to have live music, giveaways, and some nice bikes on display (other than the rider's bikes). I have never been there by I hear the food is good too.

Is that the same thing WZYP does there with "Mojo"?

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. This is being sponsored by KC Motorsports I believe.

I'm in Montgomery. I usually ride every weekend. We have a good group of local riders. Most of them post on another board but if anyone is ever down this way and wants to hook up for a ride let me know.

Just heard on the radio, it IS the "Mojo patio party". 4:30-7:30pm at Sammy T's Steak House on US72.

It's pretty flat in your neck of the woods isn't it? But you've got some awesome beaches and coastline.

We have some small hills, and the beaches are about 1 hour+ away. I am wanting to find some nice twisty roads.

Hey guys Im a new to forums and sportbikes.Im in the Harvest AL. area.
need some help deciding between two bikes. gonna buy one of them real soon. The choises are both 2006 models CBR1000RR or GSXR1000
Both have good reviews and look great so its hard to decide which one to go with. Can anyone give me the pros and cons of either one or both. I know the gsxr has a slipper clutch and honda dosent but does it really matter since I dont plan to race it.
Also is it any cheaper to go to Tennessee and buy it rather than in Huntsville.

Not sure about pricing on the bikes, I've never bought one here.

As far as choosing between the CBR1000RR or GSXR1000, you might try posting this over in the Everyday Riding & General Discussion (http://www.twowheelforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28) forum too! :welcome:

Daphne alabama here.

Mitsiboy you let me know if you find some sweet roads to ride in either of our counties. I love riding down to gulf shores/ orange beach but curvey roads esspecially in south baldwin are very hard to come by. The biggest hill in this area that I know of is the beach express bridge.

I have heard there are some good roads up around Monroeville. I have never taken a ride to find out but one day when I have the time I will take a ride up there. Lots of curves there I hear.

Hey Twowheeler, I am in harvest as well.
You wouldn't happen to have just moved into a house on pine grove road?

There is someone who just moved in, and I have heard a bike pull up to the house a couple of times (the house is behind mine).

Just re-found this site. If any of you are interested in Deal's Gap trips, I've got a 3 bike trailer that I haul friends up there on....One day trips from 5 a.m. till about 8 p.m. Been there 55 times. Check out one of my videos at www.youtube.com under tail of the dragon.... Look for the 10:00 video by JasonD23.... He is the one following me and I gave him a copy of it. He shortened it and put it to music. About a 10:30 pace, overlook to state line.
