The balance by the online dot lets you add or subtract from peoples reputation. I have (x) points and it will go up and down with what people think of my posts. Changing me from my distinguished road. Better or worse. Lets be grown ups about it too. ....my guess.

Clickin' on the topic it give you doesn't say anything about who posted what as far as a comment or nothing like that, just brings you to that topic/post. And now there is also a green dot next to the number of posts you have, what's that ?

We're experimenting with, at the moment. I'm not sure it'll stay, but here is the link to the "official" info: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/main/reputation Nicely put, stolen from another site. :D : At the top right of every post you will see a new icon (images/buttons/reputation.gif) which allows you to provide reputation for that user's post. Clicking the icon allows you to post a comment and state whether you approve or disapprove. As long as you are a full user (i.e. you have 100 posts and have been a member for 90 days), this will then be publicly available for everyone to see and will appear directly underneath the post as a comment. A box titled "Comments on this post" will appear, with a list of users who agree/disagree. All full users have a certain reputation power. This depends on the number of posts they have, the reputation they have received themselves and how long they have been a member etc. When you approve of a post, you increase the poster's reputation by the number of reputation points you have. If you disagree with their post, their reputation points will decrease by the number of reputation points you have. If you are not yet a full user (i.e. you do not have 100 posts and have not been a member for 90 days) you do not have any reputation power. While you can still comment on posts, your comments will not be publicly available and you will not alter the poster's reputation points. The comments you make will only be visible to the poster in their user control panel. Every time you agree or disagree with a post, your comment will appear in their user control panel. Each comment will either have a green icon (to show that the user agreed with your post), a red icon (to show that the user disagreed with your post) or a grey icon (where the user has no reputation power so is not a full member). This is an entertaining idea, but only that, IMHO. It really won't serve to create an air of importance or even consensus on any single post. The reason? Some individuals like to create many trolls/personalities on a particular board for various reasons. Therefore, using these one could inflate their own reputation without it actually adding anything of value. Just being around and reading the wisdom of members is enough to know who're the reputable members, IMO. The newbs might not know right away, but it doesn't take long for them to catch on. What other fun add-ons does this software have Shan?

It has downloads and it's own forum for questions and all. That is what I'm developing for my new job so you may get some ideas for here.

The Reputation Points are given out be fellow members and MODs on the forum. We add them for good posts and just because. It shows positive feedback from whoever wants to add to your points. :)

I think it's negative. If you look above the posts on the red bar you will have a total reputation point #. I have three posts there too and one is black for my old avatar. As you can see I improved mine.

They don't shake too bad and blur your visability. Also it is a lot easier to see what's behind you with out moving too much since the mirrors are on the side. The best part was the folding option when you had to get into a tight space. Take some pics ASAP, I'd like to see how they look.

It is all anonymous. If someone doesn't like what you said and they can add negative feedback and you will never know who it was. Same with positive. It's not just a positive thing.

I remember someone saying they gave me some, but just figured that it was a mental note sort of deal, "ok this guy's not a total douchebag." Anyway, I checked out this thread and am still confused as to what these things do... I'll be honest... I hate that statement, we'd all hope when someone say something that they are being honest... I did not feel like reading 8 pages of posts to see if this was already answered... My question is, how do I find the posts in which rep points were given to me? I found my total rep points, but each time it goes up, I think to myself WTF happened? Am I left sifting, or is there an easier way...

Ill try to summarize for you. If somebody agrees or disagrees with a post you have made or visa versa. You/they can click the scales under you screen name. You/they then have the option to agree or disagree and leave a comment about it. You go to your user cp to view the points. The latest points received will be listed and what thread and post they came from. There may or may not be a signature or even an explanation from whom ever gave the good or bad points.

I sign mine...always. Good or bad. Be a man and put your name there... And return the favor yo!

Takes time... if it's a really good post like OTB I sign, if it's the "spread them around" so I can click OTB again, I don't sign.

The points you recieve are based on the amount of points the giver has. If the person giving reps has bad feedback...you won't get as many. And vice versa.

That's what I've done and I use them a lot now.

I love when this thread resurfaces, I always end up getting some rep points from somebody. I guess its a good reminder they are there.

Ill try to summarize for you. If somebody agrees or disagrees with a post you have made or visa versa. You/they can click the scales under you screen name. You/they then have the option to agree or disagree and leave a comment about it. You go to your user cp to view the points. The latest points received will be listed and what thread and post they came from. There may or may not be a signature or even an explanation from whom ever gave the good or bad points. Holy crap that makes things much easier... I was just clicking on my icon in my posts which only gives me the total... I understand what they are, but do they really do anything for you? Or is it just a bragging rights sort of thing?

i can't beleive it.. i checked my rep points and someone actually negative repd me for agreein with the previous posts above me... I wish that there was a way to appeal against negative rep but i guess that this would take up time of the mods that they could better use fighting spam and editing out some of the rare obsenety that gets posted... oh well i guess i will have to live with this scarlet letter do you think that this deserved negative rep... it was what i said in post #12 http://www.twowheelforum.com/showthread.php?p=203241#post203241

I sign mine...always. Good or bad. Be a man and put your name there... And return the favor yo! And this is right on! Plus the return love is great! But also... don't spread them out like you do candy on holloween. Be selective a bit... that's the whole point of the rep pts!!!!
