ZZR600 Exhaust

I just bought an '06 ZZR-600. I'm having trouble finding an aftermarker slip-on exhaust. Does anyone know if I can buy parts to fit another bike that will work on this bike?

check with Kawi to see if the 06 has a diff exhaust part number then the 05... if its the same then just order a 05 exhaust.... If not being so new.. Call the exhaust Companies... one of em may do a test in tune thing.. design the exhaust on your bike and give ya the exhaust free, would be worth it if theres a Co. close to you.

After further review of the pics. I believe the older stuff will work. The head pipe will be the only fitment issue. They do have the same motor so it should still fit.

That generation of ZX6R ran from 2000 to 2003. :luck:

My freinds has a 05 Kawi ZZR and he has a D&d, Its loud but sounds nice.

long as u go with a major brand your gonna get a nice can... id just do a slip on. Friend has a Scorpion slip on exhaust It sounds good and i was amazed at the powergain of it since it was just a slip on with nothing else done to the bike. And it sounds Great. But anyone, Tergmini or however its spelled is good, 2 brothers, Jardine... but make sure its the Rt-one can, or Yoshimura, Arata, Akropovic, Micron, D&D, Blue Flame, Muzzys,Leo Vince, M4, Scorpion, Vance and Hines, Hindle or ART and youll get a good quality can and decent sounds... Sounds will very, but power will be slow close on em all only a pro would feel the difference. I'd go with whats cheaper or with Muzzys since they arethe Kawasaki specialts of the group like Yoshimura is with Suzuki or Graves is with Yamaha. and Erion with Honda.

Call a Kawi dealer to make sure though. IF you cant find one in your area, call Kelly's Kawasaki in Mesa, AZ they are very knowledgeable. I was in their shop and they had some 05-06 ZZR's on display. It looked EXACTLY the same as my bike. Another suggestion is to go to bikebandit.com and check out their OEM catalog for your model and the 2000-2002 (I think the exhaust and parts around there that can fit range from 98-02). Check the part number for the exhaust and hangers for both model. IF they match, they should be the same. That’s what I did with my exhaust hangers. If you need a pic reference, here is a pic of my 01 zx6r, almost complete at the time. Mounting point of the can will be trivial. Most all after market exhaust slip on / bolt on use a strap to mount it to the hanger. The only thing to worry about is if the pip it the right diameter or bolt pattern matches.

Finally got my exhaust in the mail..FMF powercore! Sounds good,just loud enough at cruise and not much more than stock at WOT. YOU hear alot of the intake at WOT,just got the bolt on,not sure if I'm gonna need to jet,I'll have to do some diagnosin to see,but I really like the sound and it wasnt too expensive...340.00 all said and done at bike bandit w/AMA discount...new sound really makes big difference in performance(throttle response).BTW,everything on the 98 to 02 is excactly the same for this bike,I just order for the 2000 if the ZZR isn't avail.

Other than that, I think your'e right, they are exactly the same after that. ....Its good to know these parts are interchangable though, it will make eBay'ing much easier :dthumb: congrats on the exhaust :dthumb: . Ahhh that's right,Iforgot the supports for the shield/fairing area,if that's what you mean,but yea,makes parts searching full of choices,I love this bike!!!Another thing I wanted to mention was I had a muzzy slip-on and it was a fair amount louder all around,just FYI.I'll post some pics when I figgure out how to on this siteI'm not real experienced with that type of thing :scratch: Just did a full blast on a near-by back road and brought the bike home to pull the plugs and see how she's runnin w/ the new pipe...If anyone would be so kind as to give some detailed directions on adding pics like snadamo did above,I'd greatly appreciate it! :dthumb:
