R1up0n1 11-01-2005, 11:32 AM I haven't bought the 03 R1 just yet. I will be making the purchase after the holidays are over with at the beginning of the year.
Here are the pics I snapped while I took my road trip to look at it over the weekend.

2200 miles on it.
Also I get the solo cowl, and a Yamaha R1 cover when I buy it.
Blade1413 11-01-2005, 11:48 AM That Bike looks Awesome!
And that is a great deal, you will be extremely happy with yourself come "the end of the holidays".. :dthumb:
JEKYLL 11-01-2005, 11:54 AM Schweeeet,I like that undertail...keeps that style of turn sig.,not a big fan of the tiny aftermarket LED's most use.Where I'm at you need all the lighting you can!!!Bet you spent some restless nights thinkin about her...
Gas Man 11-01-2005, 12:04 PM That is  sweet looking!
I just worry for you that it will get sold out from under ya...
But she's a beauty!!
Earlzach 11-01-2005, 02:22 PM I just noticed the area. I think that building is a body shop right there or behind it.. I guess I need to make a road trip myself.
Ha! ha! Just kiddin.
I sure hope you get it. I would come up there and ride with ya but if you ride that like you did your SV I'll never see ya!!! :yikes:
Any how good luck and dont wait too long.

Nah!! the guy won't sell it out from under me. He's really cool, and he really doesn't want to see her go. he said if anything were to ever come up where someone offered him $ for it, he would call me first. He assured me I don't really have to worry about that though.
Thanks for the comments guys! I dream about this bike day in and day out!
Gas Man 11-01-2005, 03:46 PM I understand your dreaming issues... I go thru them everyday... as a matter of fact I went to the Big Dog dealer yesterday and say on a chopper in the showroom... just to get my drooling fix.
No Worries 11-01-2005, 05:42 PM Nice. Did he let you ride it? That would be the clincher.
(edit) After the pictures finished loading, I noticed the chain looks rusty. Was it?
Mudpuppy 11-01-2005, 08:22 PM I think I shed a tear.. That is fugging awesome..

doesnt look like anything some 611 cant clear up.
Real nice Sv. Or should we call you R1upOnOne?
Gas Man 11-02-2005, 07:43 AM Yeah I see a user name change when he gets it! :D
snadamo 11-02-2005, 10:43 AM sweet SV, the bike looks clean and has none of that "frilly" crap on it. Hope you snag it soon!
Is that rust on the chain?
I see some new blinkers and a reflector removal first thing.
R1up0n1 11-02-2005, 02:48 PM Thanks everyone!
Yes the chain needs a little TLC. The bike sits in his warehouse at his shop for weeks on end. It all makes since with 2200 miles on a 2003 R1.
DL- You are right on the reflectors and signals getting replaced!
No Worries- I would have gotten to ride it that day, but where he is a tall guy and I am such a short guy he had the suspension raised way up, so I couldn't plant my feet on the ground too well. I didn't want to take the risk of laying it down in the parking lot before I buy. He said next time I come up with the money he would have it all lowered for me.
JK- you are correct! My name change will go to R1upON1 when I purchase the bike.
ok gotta go....gotta get to that funeral visitation.
jeeps84 11-03-2005, 05:31 PM I wish I could be that patient enough to wait on a new bike and not worried about it getting sold out from under me. He!!, my own Grandfather sold a 57 convertible Cadillac out from under me after begging to buy it from him for as long as I could remember.

I know the feeling. My father let me have possession of his '79 Corvette for 5 years. It was done to convince me to work for him. I paid for ALL maintenance, taxes, tags, insurance, etc. during that time. He didn't spend a solitary dime on the car. However, he never would put the title in my name. I offered to buy it from him, but he said he was "afraid (I) would lose it in a divorce." I was never (and still am not) even close to being married. I finally got fed up with him ragging on me about working on it and making comments like "I only had to put gas and oil in it when I drove it" or commenting to people that it was his but he was letting me drive it. This summer, I told him I was giving it back to him. Now he's talking about selling it. He wouldn't sell it to me for fear of me losing it in a divorce (that couldn't happen unless I got married), but he's willing to sell it to a stranger. :skep: Whatever.

I would offer to buy it again if you relay want it. Or just keep it and enjoy.:2cents:
R1up0n1 12-28-2005, 09:27 PM I'm Glad to see my thread brung back up... but WTF are the pics of the R1!!?
Just an update on some info. I finally got the lein release on the SV on Tuesday while I was back home for the holidays. I walked in the courthouse and explained I don't live in Ky anymore and I need this straightend out now. The lady looked in the computer and said oh this has been cleared since October. I handed her the title and she stamped it. I also cancelled the tags for the SV so I don't have to pay 6% taxes on it next year.
Now I need to sell this clear title frame so I can buy this R1. If it doesn't sell soon, I will just buy the R1 before spring time.

a Software upgrade shouldn't corrupt the jpeg files on the server...but who knows.
Thanks for the :welcome: back...but I haven't been gone that long! I still stop by and check in. I have just been so busy with traveling for work, and the holiday stuff.
