I read a shootout between the 1200S, ZX12R, and the Busa. On some of the charts like top speed, hp, torque, the GSXR 1000 was thrown in on the top speed and it is about 15-20 mph faster and around 7K cheaper. the ergos are more like a sport tourer. It has a good amount of torque and the hp is just OK. I'd stick with the proven winners if you ask me. :2cents:

Only 176????? :nonod: That's pretty funny. Only 176? Like that's slow or something. Yes maybe for a 1200 but 176 is not slow. I'll shut up now.

Don't all the bike makers have a rule not to sell a bike that will go over 180? Course you can get the chip or whatever to bypass the limiter. And remember what an old man once told me....there is always someone faster...

No Worries

Nope, They are I4's The BMW 1200S is also an inline four. Maybe the busa and ZX12 are considered fully faired, not "partially streamlined".

A 2006 production model BMW K1200S has set a world land speed record in the 1000 - 1350 cc stock, partially streamlined, naturally aspirated motorcycle class at Utah's famed Bonneville Salt Flats. The motorcycle, piloted by 56-year-old Andy Sills, of San Francisco, CA, reached an average speed of 173.57 mph and top speed of 176.789 mph after two runs on the vast, white plains Thats the record, and technically is that even true?!?!? A busa is 1300cc stock partially streamlined and NA can run 180 or more, right?
