ZX14 details????????Speedpup 12-26-2005, 03:12 PM I was wondering the weight which isn't on their site yet or HP. Thanks! jeeps84 12-26-2005, 03:50 PM Not allot of true info on this beast yet.:tt: Gas Man 12-26-2005, 04:47 PM Do a search on TWF for zx14 or 14r or ninja 1400
We have heard some sketchy stuff on it that you could look at... Speedpup 12-26-2005, 06:27 PM three weeks to bike show in NYC:yikes: larryg 01-04-2006, 09:20 PM FWIW, they haven't released any info to the dealers yet. Here is what I can tell you...when I sat on it at the dealer show (no fluids) it felt about the same as a ZX12R, considering they have very similar frame designs and only a slightly larger motor I expect it will weigh in about the same or maybe a bit less.
The rumor going around was that they are shooting for 200 at the crank, not hard to believe, but it must have huge torque because the tach indicated a redline of 11,500.
I'll let you know more if they release anything (although it is usually all over the 'net by the time I get home).

The 10 and 14 are two totally different bikes. You must mean the 12. It is the predecessor to the new 14.
The 10 is a Super Sport while the 12 and new 14 are sort'of Sport Touring.
That's like comparing a GSXR 1000 to a Busa. Both are supper fast but intended for different task.:2cents: Rae 01-31-2006, 10:53 AM The 10 and 14 are two totally different bikes. You must mean the 12. It is the predecessor to the new 14.

Nope, I really meant the 10 & the 14, he hasnt really considered the 12, he loves the look of the 10 but likes the power of the 14...he cant really make up his mind...i think he's a tourer at heart... jeeps84 01-31-2006, 11:07 AM He probably would be happier with the 14 then.:2cents: Rae 01-31-2006, 11:09 AM He probably would be happier with the 14 then.:2cents:

555 lbs wet weight with a full tank of gas. 5.8 gallons at 7lbs per gallon =40.6 lbs. So about 514 lbs empty. R1up0n1 03-11-2006, 11:50 PM 555 lbs wet weight with a full tank of gas. 5.8 gallons at 7lbs per gallon =40.6 lbs. So about 514 lbs empty.
:yikes: that's a heavy beotch!! That's about 132 heavier than my R1 dry weight. jeeps84 03-11-2006, 11:53 PM I really expected it to be much lighter.:disapp: ebbs15 03-12-2006, 12:09 AM I really expected it to be much lighter.:disapp:
yeah I expected it to be alot lighter than that... like arround 480 max dry... but then again... she doesn't look light in any way shape or form:2cents: Gas Man 03-12-2006, 09:50 AM 555 lbs wet weight with a full tank of gas. 5.8 gallons at 7lbs per gallon =40.6 lbs. So about 514 lbs empty.
But that isn't the true dry weight... you still got anti-freeze, and oil... not to make up much more weight but believe me...the manufactures do it with no liquid..sometimes not even a battery. jeeps84 03-13-2006, 01:16 AM I've said it before and will again. I think some times the forget a wheel when they scale the bikes. Speedpup 03-14-2006, 07:33 PM I really expected it to be much lighter.:disapp:
it's a PIG:runaway: GearGrabinGuy 03-14-2006, 08:56 PM Yeah it is much heavier than I expected. But I dont know if they were planning on it being much of performer in the twisties. But its going to be a straight away ROCKET!!! Definatly look out busa!!! | |
