buellx1 01-04-2006, 04:54 AM Hey everyone, figured id do my intro thread so everyone knows who i am
My names Grant
Im 20 years old
Im in the US air force and work on jet engines. I also buil turbo charged imports for people as well as suspension and custom audio.
Anyways, to the bike
I luckily ran into a great deal on a 200 buell x1 lightning.
Ive wanted a buell for almost 8 years, and finally got one, (it also helped my dad has a 1999 heritage springer FLSTS that got me into bikes even more)
So i grabbed up this great deal and became a happy man. Ive done a few things here and there with mods and cleaning and remodeling it.
If you want pics ill post, and a mod list as requested, but i wanted to say hey, and hope i have fun!

buellx1 01-04-2006, 05:48 AM how do those heated grips work out?
JK_DILLA 01-04-2006, 05:55 AM not well. They were fine for a while but then they shorted out. Fuse is fine just doesnt heat now. I'll pull them off soon and inspect, but it would have been nice if they lasted one winter. They wrap around your grips (not under) and are from Aerostich.
buellx1 01-04-2006, 05:56 AM i want to get the buell ones, 70 bucks, and work with the buells specifically but i dunno. Im gonna get hte handguards off a cityX liek a motard, but the warmers are making me indesisive
Gas Man 01-04-2006, 08:06 AM :welcome: back Grant aka Buell.... I appreciate your efforts in the military! :pat:
I test rode the Buell's this past summer and you can see that in the buell section for Demo Days. They are a fun bike for sure.
Put some pics in the gallery so we can see them once they get approved.
Would love to hear some military stories as well as some more info on those bike mods!
Gas Man 01-04-2006, 08:13 AM Actually I see that you already uploaded them and I approved them..

really i wanted both. Guards and grips. Next time i will go with the "under the grip" heaters with a HI/LOW/OFF switch. these are just HOTLIKETHEDICKENS/OFF. Let us know what you decide.
