the new ZX-10s are at the top of the list of the bikes to have. They are supposedly very very good at every aspect....esp the power department and handling.

I didnt say it was the BEST bike out there... I said it was at the top of the list. the gixxer 1k is ranked as 1st...and the ZX-10 is right behind it in 2nd.

I've never owned one but have ridden two of them. One ride was at the Gap. They are FAST and handle great. The biggest issue I had was, The seat is to high and the bars are to low. I felt like I was doing a hand stand if I wasn't hard on the gas. I'm 5'9" and couldn't imagine being a tall guy riding one.

I see that for 06 they fixed some of th eminor annoyances people had with last years model.. Like a tach you can see better now (analog I think instead of digital), gearbox work to tighten up shifiting ( I guess there was a slippage out of gear problem?), and a few other Minor things. It seems like people could only come up with minor flaws last year, and some of those have been takin care of. The riding position is still monkey-humping-football though, from what I hear.

Are you talking wheelbase? The R1 held the record then the Zx beat it by 11mm's and thats not always a good thing.

Gas Man
01-06-2006, 10:41 AM
I don't know what they were talking about... is was refering to just the overall size. I remember when it first came out that they said it could hide in the shadow of a 6R.

Didn't take long to wad that up...what happened? wish I could remember. the last thing I remembered was crossing some railroad tracks then making a easy right hand corner then the next thing is setting down on the bank of the hill (just below where I am standing in that picture I posted) wondering where I got the menthol smoke and where my helmet was. the guy I was riding with said that I had yelled for him when he finally noticed that I wasn't behind him and came back for me as he was going by and that I had thrown my helmet up the hill a few minitues before I asked him where it was. he said that I also asked him what bike I was riding. from the point that I started remembering I knew everything that was asked like names and phone numbers. I messed up both ankles and was off work for a week, they let me come back to the shop (I'm a motorcycle mechanic at the local Kawasaki/Suzuki dealership) I'm still hobbling around but getting better. here are some pix of my helmet, ankles and leather. the leather held up realy good. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/zedx11/helmet.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/zedx11/leftfoot.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/zedx11/leftlegtop.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/zedx11/rightfoot.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/zedx11/rightleg.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/zedx11/b1ff5e3b.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/zedx11/9fa2f575.jpg

thats exactly why I always wear my helmet. Wise choice. I just thought of this: "Where did you get that motorcycle?" "It's not a motorcycle, it's a chopper." "Where did you get that chopper?" "It's ZED's." "Who is Zed?" "Zed's dead, baby."
