Hookah Anyone???

anyone in here ever smoke shisha from a hookah or ever go to a hookah bar? i went tonight with two friends and i was great... :cheers: one of those few "legal highs" :bonk: there is no marijuana involved (nor do i smoke it); actually smoking marijuana from the hookah is really looked down upon by true hookah enthusiasts and usually ruins the pipe... shisha is just tobacco flavored with fruit combined with molasses/honey... there are so many flavors (around 40-50) and you can add juice or milk to the water (or wine or liquor) in the base, so the possibilities of flavor combinations are endless... i here that it's alot safer than smoking cigarettes because it's pure tobacco (minus all the menthol and other carcinogens). one bowl (takes about 1 hour to burn completely) is supposed to equal one cigarette in the terms of tar and nicotine. (i had a nice buzz goin after about 45 mins.) i might invest in my own hookah pipe setup. it's a fun little social activity if you have a party goin'... you can look em' up on yahoo. they've been made/used for millenia. just putting it out there...:dthumb:

I have been to several hookah bars, I was traveling through the middle east and its one of the most popular past times. almost like star bucks to us

I had a hookah back in the '70s when I was in college...It was from Turkey, and was about 3 feet tall and had 2 tips coming off of it...Can't ever remember smoking any tobacco out of it though...:scratch: :wink:

How much does the tabacco go for?

it costs like 8 bucks in the bars (you split this between everybody)... you can buy a 250g (25 bowls) container of it for like 10 online...

Dang. That **** burns slow too.
