What's with Triumph?

I went to the Cycle World Motorcycle Show last weekend. I couldn't wait to get close to the Triumph Daytona 675. I thought it might be my first sport bike. Imagine my disappointment to find out that Triumph had no presence at the show at all. I talked to our local dealer and he told me Triumph wouldn't even put in any effort to help them display bikes at the booth the dealer paid for. My dealer had to fill the space with scooters instead. I didn't realize Triumph was so huge and financially secure that they don't need any new customers. I would have thought they would want to show off their new models, since they have created several intersting ones this year. So here's my question, if anyone knows. Is Triumph on the verge of going out of business again? If MV Augusta, Moto Guzzi, and even Ural can afford booths with several bikes in them, can't Triumph afford to show their new models? Just my two cents, but I think Triumph is really missing the mark. Even my dealer told me that the company was OK to work with, but they wouldn't exactly bend over backwards to help their customers. With the number of killer bikes I saw at the show, at least I have plenty of choices (I think I may have to start selling plasma to get the downstroke for the MV...I've been dreaming about that thing):drool: .

i agree with you jemanternatch. I was dissapointed too when the 675 wasnt at the houston show. There was a local dealer with a rocket, bonneville and the new sprint. I hope triumph still allows test rides at dealers, because i want to jump on one for sure.

Triumph opted to not do anything for the International Motorcycle Show in Detroit, Michigan too. The local Triumph dealer was quite confused by the decision.

From what the local dealer has told us, each dealership in the U.S. is allotted 2 of them for 2006. BUT that's no gaurantee they'll GET those two. There are so many already on order, sight unseen, that larger dealerships may get those for customers before smaller dealerships ever see the first one come through the door. There WILL be at least one (available for demos, no less) at bike week in Daytona next month (I've got a hook-up -- YAY!), and then the week after that, that same demo will be at our local bike night here in Jacksonville (hopefully -- not written in stone yet, but we've been told it looks promising).

I don't know what the deal with triumph is. I have a friend that bought a TT600 and it was a nice bike, but I don't think it was just all that. It seems like you don't see much triumph floating around, like they don't want to mass market their product like zuki honda, and yami.

at the boston show, there was a 675, a speed tripple, and a sprint. btw....i sat on all of them, and they're all very nice! I want a tripple. :drool: :drool:

Smaller in supply, production, R&D, everything. No the TT wasnt much, but it was a huge step tor Triumph internally. the 675 may be Truimphs ticket to bigger and better things if its any good.

If Triumph would attend some national bike shows/events that would allow people to check out the bike.
