6 are you kidding me? you shouldn't be allowed to have a license after 3 IMO!!! insane... I know in parts of Oregon if you get a DUI for a second (or more) time they take the vehicle you were driving (yours or not) and auction it off... throw you in jail for a while... and suspend your license for a year+... but that's Oregon

Doesn't 6th DD mean 3rd Felony DD? Doesn't 3rd felony mean bye bye for life(25 yrs)? 3 strikes and you are out, biatch!

Doesn't 6th DD mean 3rd Felony DD? Doesn't 3rd felony mean bye bye for life(25 yrs)? 3 strikes and you are out, biatch! Depends how he is charged...felony or misdemeanor. Should be good for a 1 yr minimum....depending if he uses aliases or not. Have a friend with 6 plus deuces, but 5 different name....only did 6 months with work release too. (He went to work during the day and jail time at nite).:willy:

The thing is that he has never been charged with more than second offense cuz in different states. I bailed him out 15 min ago, had to post $975. Getting charged with 3rd offense only which is a fellony with min. 30 days and max 5 yrs. While waiting another guy got sentenced to full 5 yrs! Court set for 4/3

A friend of mine did 2yrs for 3 DUI. And probation forever. He has a breathalizer in his car and it wont start or run unless hes blows clean every 10min.

this thread has gotten a lot of attention today. I checked this thread about 11 this morning. the 6th DUI :yikes: however if you think about it, how many times have we all drove a vehicle after we were drinking? if you are at a bar and have a few drinks then go home then you are DUI. Even tho you may not be trashed, if a cop still stops you and he smells alcohol he's going to do the breathalizer and you may just get f'd even of you are staight enough to drive. maybe he's just got REALLY BAD luck.:2cents: or I could be wrong and he could have been smashed all 6 times.

Ya, but court date isnt that far away and he needs to sell house, new jeep, bike, and settle other personal affairs before he goes back. 5 yrs is a long dam time to be locked up, would hope someone would show me a little compashion, even if it was 100% my fault.

I have no compassion for drunk drivers. They know the risk to them selves and to others but don't care.:bash:

I cant swing another bike payment either and may have to sell his 03' 954. Busted in IA by the way. I'm surprised they let him get up to 6 in this day and age. Normally it's 3 strikes and you're out. Just read the entire thread, so I get the point about different states. If the judge knows about the other states, he may very well get the full 5 years. This question hasn't been answered yet, but does he have a drinking problem, or was he just unlucky and got caught slightly over legal limit each time? Although, if it were me, I'd think the first DUI would be enough to keep me from even attempting to drive after a couple drinks, just in case. Indiana has a new ad campaign running that basically says, "It's easy to tell when you're entirely too drunk to drive, but it's not easy to tell if you're near or at the limit. Buzz driving IS drunk driving." I think it's a great campaign because too many people (myself included) have just one or two at the bar and then drive home. Fortunately for me, I have several cop buddies and I've been breathalyzed enough times (just for fun or to test the level to see if I'm ok to drive) to know what it takes to be near the limit. And you know something? With my size, it truly is one drink PER HOUR. And I don't exceed that if I'm going to be driving. I usually stay well below that mark if I have to drive. And I NEVER rode after even one beer. If I was going to be riding, then I would not drink a single drop of alcohol.

They are doing the buzz driving thing all the time in Michigan as well. Personally I think somebody should market a vending machine breathalizer. Charge like $5 per person to blow in the machine to check your BAC. You would get the concerned citizen and the drunk 21 year old trying to see who's is higher... I think you could make a killing!
