My roommate's a moron

Since I bought my bike my roommate's been :dool: about getting a bike and keeps asking my opinion about this bike and that bike... he asked the normal noob question... "what should I get?" then did the normal noob thing and ignored me... now his question is... "Which would be better for me... the new GSXR600 or the new R6?" :yikes: when I tell him he shouldnt be on anything bigger than a 500 unless it's the 650 twins... or is a5+ year old 600cc... but he's hell bent on getting me to agree with him... (NOT GONNA HAPPEN:bash: ) the thing is I asked him WHAT he wanted the bike for... a toy, comuting... ect... and he said commuting... and he wants the new 600's? :disapp: when I try to explain that EVEN an FZ6 would be better... he just doesn't like the looks of it... and the R6 and GSXR just feel soo much better... to him.... I was like... DUDE YOU'VE ONLY SAT ON THEM... TRY RIDING ONE...:bash: :bash: :bash: sorry... had to vent:cursin:

I'm convinced the only reason he wants the new bike is because it's "better" than the one I have... what ever:disapp: thanks for the vent:lol: :dthumb:

If he is hell bent on getting a new bike to out due you, let him get one and don't tell him about sliders, so you can laugh your ass off when he lays it down and has that pretty bike scratched all to hell or worse. Make sure he gets top of the line gear to go with it though. Don't want him hurt, just embarrassed.

Hey everyone, I know, I know, I haven't been around in like ages. Been busy with school, work and riding. It's nice down here in El Paso, well, as far as the whole riding thing goes. Nobody ripped on me when I bought my 2005 R6 as a first bike, everyone was so helpful and still is with it, or at least when I was asking questions about it. I've done some changes to it but not too much. I'd say just let him get what he wants, if he wrecks, hopefully it ain't too bad. He'll live and learn, that's the way that I go about it. I've taught two people how to ride and that was using my R6 as the bike they learned on. They passed their tests the first time and thank me constantly for it. Although now I'm going to get rid of the R6 and grab me a 1000. So I say good luck to your friend. Let him get what he wants, just advise him as best you can and tell him to do his research on what he truly wants. Personally, I'd stay away from the Gixxer, rather the Yami or Honda. Just my :2cents: though.

I can't imagine him on a bike... he keeps trying to get me to let him practice on my bike when the weather warms up... :wbs: :wbs: :wbs: : well i can vouch for him there. ( i have 3 snowmobiles) the 800s DO have alot of power....of course not the same power to weight ratio as a bike cause the sled weighs about 500-525lbs...BUT.... I know my 2006 Ski-Doo MXZ 800 H.0. makes around 150-153hp....plus i have 244 studs in my track!....they MOVE!!! i would say my 800 can rip through the 1/4 mile at around high 10s.....the only thing is that i will be topped out already....usually tops out around 107-110mph. anyway.....yes snowmobiles are different than bikes.....HOWEVER....i have about 9 years of riding experience behind me on snowmobiles and when agressive on the machine....the aspects of turning in and accelerating and the overall function have some similarities.
