Rae 03-24-2006, 10:18 AM sorry man, not a clue... marko138 03-24-2006, 10:20 AM Dice may be too old school for some of you young bucks. JoeDirt 03-24-2006, 10:20 AM i have the generic version of Sirius (XM) so i didn't get it.
plus i'm not a big fan of Stern. marko138 03-24-2006, 10:23 AM i have the generic version of Sirius (XM) so i didn't get it.

What does that mean? Sirius and XM are 2 totally different entities. JoeDirt 03-24-2006, 10:26 AM What does that mean? Sirius and XM are 2 totally different entities.
very good. thats why i said i have the "Generic" version of sirius which is XM radio (it has more commercials).
Thank you....please come again. :dthumb: marko138 03-24-2006, 11:14 AM Alright I got it. Sirius is killer man. Music is way better than the XM channels. I hear alot of negatives about the XM bro. I've also heard if you call and tell them you wanna cancel they will do just about anything to keep you....like lower your bill. Gas Man 03-24-2006, 11:25 AM Blah Blah Blah... I don't have either sat radio and I don't like stern either... marko138 03-24-2006, 11:32 AM F**K. Sorry. JoeDirt 03-24-2006, 11:36 AM Alright I got it. Sirius is killer man. yea, it came with my truck when i bought it, and i pay like $33 for 3 months (something like that) and it's not bad, just not as great as sirius.
yea, they are nazis about cancelling!! marko138 03-24-2006, 11:52 AM I hear they are losing subscribers left and right and they will do anything to keep people on board. Alot of XMers jumping ship over to Sirius.
And for those who don't have either...I guarantee you if you hear satellite you will never tolerate the horse s**t on terestrial (testicle) radio ever again. I have zero tolerance for commercials and static. DLIT 03-24-2006, 01:21 PM I got to hear a little bit of the interview. Mostly the part when they were talking about Dice calling Howard up and keeping him up for as long as he could until Howard got pissed and hung up. And the part about when he was looking at houses. :rofl3:
Did you hear the other day when Beatle Juice and Artie were going back and forth? Artie kept telling him to F off and Beetle would tell him to and a bunch of names were getting tossed around. I was dying in my truck. My stomach was killin me. itgirl25 03-24-2006, 01:27 PM sounds like i missed out. i'll get sirius when it is free. i don't even pay for cds anymore, why would i pay for radio? my loss, i guess. DLIT 03-24-2006, 01:29 PM It is your loss and it will never be free.
THE HOWARD STERN SHOW HAS NOT BEEN THIS FUNNY FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS. jtemple 03-24-2006, 04:44 PM I have a 60 gig ipod and a 21,000 song mp3 collection. I haven't listened to the radio in a long time. Sirius radio is way different. You don't know what you're missing. Gas Man 03-24-2006, 07:54 PM Sirius radio is way different. You don't know what you're missing.
Seriously... I'm not sure... do they make a hand held version... somin for like the gym or riding? DLIT 03-24-2006, 07:56 PM Seriously... I'm not sure... do they make a hand held version... somin for like the gym or riding?
Yeah, the SP-50. You can actually record and store it if you wanted.
I will never listen to regular radio again! Gas Man 03-24-2006, 08:03 PM I wonder how much... cause I need some tunes for the bike... the FM sucks. I was thinking about a IPOD but its a pain to constantly download music and upload to the thing. I have just a regular MP3 now... and it gets irritating. Dude. Ipods are awesome. itunes works the best. you can set it to whenever you plug your ipod into a usb itunes automatically pops open and transfers all the new songs directly to your ipod. Hell you can d/l itunes even when you don't have an ipod and use it for all your music needs. itunes is the greatest!
About that MP-50 deal. You'll proly have a hard time finding one. they're expensive too.
if you need to know anything about itunes, lket me know. jeeps84 03-25-2006, 02:37 AM I hear they are losing subscribers left and right and they will do anything to keep people on board. Alot of XMers jumping ship over to Sirius.

:withstupi and missed the Dice man. R1up0n1 03-25-2006, 02:42 AM :iagree: satellite rules!!!!! I use my mp3 player too. but it's not an ipod. even my cell phone has a built in mp3 player I don't really use it tho. Gas Man 03-25-2006, 06:54 AM Which do you like better R1? The sat or MP3
I'm begining to think that the sat radio might be better and easier to use. jeeps84 03-25-2006, 02:21 PM Which do you like better R1? The sat or MP3

No downloads and you can always find something to keep you entertained from a ball game to Howard or even the Playboy channel. If that don't float your boat. You can listen to Martha. Oh yea, music of any kind too. No commercials on the music stations and no hunting stations from town to town. Yup. It's the best form of radio ever! Sirius is way better than XM too. jeeps84 03-25-2006, 05:13 PM Yup. It's the best form of radio ever! Sirius is way better than XM too.
From having both. :iagree: R1up0n1 03-25-2006, 11:07 PM Which do you like better R1? The sat or MP3

I like the sat better, but the mp3 player is nice to have just a quick download of the songs I want. R1up0n1 03-25-2006, 11:11 PM Yup. It's the best form of radio ever! Sirius is way better than XM too.

:iagree: I sold and installed both when I was in the car stereo industry. The only reason I have XM now is because it's free! My friend that works for dent wizard at a car auction got it for me. Someone turned in a lease and he said he didn't have time to take the XM out so he told him to keep it. So my buddy took it out and sold me the XM radio for $10.00  I guess the guy paid for a year up front or something because its still activated. I've had it in my truck for almost a year now. We'll see how much longer its activated. jeeps84 03-25-2006, 11:52 PM I know my old XM worked for over two months after I quit paying for it. Then I switched over. R1up0n1 03-25-2006, 11:53 PM I know my old XM worked for over two months after I quit paying for it. Then I switched over.
well after my XM eventually goes out I will get the sirius for sure. Gas Man 03-26-2006, 10:03 AM Yeah maybe I'll get a Sirus radio instead... 1BadCBR 03-26-2006, 11:34 AM Dice may be too old school for some of you young bucks.
Yea if you don't know Dice, you don't know The Dice Man. I use to listen to him all the time............ jeeps84 03-26-2006, 11:53 AM Yea if you don't know Dice, you don't know The Dice Man. I use to listen to him all the time............

if you need to know anything about itunes, lket me know.I hate ITunes. I use Anapod Explorer. http://www.redchairsoftware.com
It's not free, but worth every penny. All ITunes ever did for me was piss me off. DLIT 03-26-2006, 06:08 PM I hate ITunes. I use Anapod Explorer. http://www.redchairsoftware.com

How? itunes works great for me. I use it to burn CD's and just listen to music. I got a playlist for every type of mood I'm in. marko138 03-27-2006, 06:15 AM Yeah GM...def. go w/ sirius. Their music selection is far superior to XM...plus they just stole Playboy from XM...they are snagging NASCAR from them too. They have every NFL football game. NHL, NCAA. Sports in abundance. A ton of political talk...just can't lose. jeeps84 03-27-2006, 10:24 AM Yeah GM...def. go w/ sirius. And NASCAR is coming soon. I don't think XM will survive much longer. marko138 03-27-2006, 10:29 AM Yeah XM is quickly fading. Not good for them....
...satellite radio: the greatest invention ever made. Gas Man 03-27-2006, 10:55 AM Thanks for the advice on the Sirus vs XM. But I'm looking more on Sirus vs IPOD. marko138 03-27-2006, 10:57 AM I think DL mentioned the Sirius mp3 player. It's like 3 bills...but the catch is it's not live satellite while your joggin or whatever...it's gotta be in the cradle to take the live satellite feed. But you can store something like 3 hours of satellite. Plus mp3's.
I'll see if I can find a link. marko138 03-27-2006, 10:59 AM Alright...correction 50 hours of Sirius and mp3's. It's called the "s50".
Linkus: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fFObMRUBEIH/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=247350&I=607S50 jeeps84 03-27-2006, 11:01 AM Thanks for the advice on the Sirus vs XM. But I'm looking more on Sirus vs IPOD.
Depending on the head unit you get to receive Sirius. You may be able to save quit a few songs for on demand play. That's the only advantage the IPod has at all is on demand play. jtemple 03-27-2006, 11:03 AM How? itunes works great for me. I use it to burn CD's and just listen to music. I got a playlist for every type of mood I'm in.I'm a geek; I can't stand software that does things without me telling it to. The automation in iTunes was the source of all of my frustration.
The first time iTunes wiped about 5000 songs off of my iPod the second I plugged it in, without any kind of prompt for confirmation (the auto-sync), I uninstalled it and bought Anapod Explorer.
I haven't had any problems since. Gas Man 03-27-2006, 11:39 AM Yeah I seen the S50 thing at CircuitCity.com But heck the IPod will cost me 3 bills as well.
Does sirus have something else that works as a sat recieve that can be handheld? Something I can take on the bike?
I want something for the house, the car, portable for the gym and the bike. marko138 03-27-2006, 11:41 AM Then this is your ticket bro. I got the home kit for mine too....it's like maximizing your 13 bucks/month. In fact, it's the best $13 I've ever spent. jeeps84 03-27-2006, 11:43 AM I think the S50 is the newest and hottest thing but click here (http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/Page&c=Page&cid=1130351706502&)for more portable options. marko138 03-27-2006, 11:50 AM The sportster has a boombox available...which is H-O-T. HOT!!!!
...that was :gary: Gas Man 03-27-2006, 12:01 PM There's alot of options there... but nothing I see that will give me actual sat radio on the bike...w/o putting a ant somewhere! jeeps84 03-27-2006, 12:13 PM There's alot of options there... but nothing I see that will give me actual sat radio on the bike...w/o putting a ant somewhere!
Just get an adhesive pad and stick one to your lid. Ive actual considered this. Gas Man 03-27-2006, 06:56 PM Well I'm thinking somin similar. Why couldn't you create a place to mount it on your slammer? The problem is where.... marko138 03-28-2006, 06:04 AM Remeber that heavily moded zx-10...the sparkly pink thing. That had a sat. mounted on the tank. It can be done. WE can make it happen. DLIT 03-28-2006, 08:43 AM I'm a geek; I can't stand software that does things without me telling it to. That's rough. When I was installing it, I chose the manual way of loading/deleting songs. So I just do everything manually. marko138 03-28-2006, 08:50 AM That's rough. When I was installing it, I chose the manual way of loading/deleting songs. So I just do everything manually.
Thats the way to go. That automatic Shiot can really hose you. | |
