Ok, so i am officially super jealous now.
I just went up to Boston for my second trip in about a year. The first time i went up was just a quick visit and not all too much. This second go around I was up there for a week, had time to gt to know the city and surrounding areas. Beautiful.
The entire time while on the way into the city each time I would just stare at the cloverleaf exit and on ramps to the interstates. Holy Crap that would be so much fun to go on the R6.:yikes: :phat: I did what I could but all I had was a rented Jeep Commander, big bulky and not much for fun tight driving.
Down here in good old Alabama is a different story. All the interstates are all messed up and no cloverleafs at all that i know of. there are a couple of fun exits in Huntsville but nothing compared to what i saw up there.
So my hats off to the northerners, even thought we might have a pretty much year round riding season down in the south, it sure would be fun to hit those turns all the time.....

It seems like all the on/off ramps here in harrisburg are like that! I have so much fun getting on and off the ramps here in PA. I've never seen so many on/off ramps where I can pull hard on the throttle, lean that beotch over so far and drag a knee.
However the roads up here are sh!tty!!!!! I always have to watch for the pot holes, waves, dips....on the ramps and the roads. PA roads were rated one of the worst roads in the nation again!

I'm not talking about the Interstate, I'm talking the roads in general. South Central, in Bowling Green to be more accurate. Just behind my house I have a road called Browning or 1082, it's a blast! Also, 626 (for the more experienced riders) Morgantown Rd. into Morgantown, then off on 1117 (one of my fave) That's not even close to what we have around here. Heck Hwy 100 is hours of sweepers, switchbacks and even a few chicanes.. WEEE! I can map out about 5 roads and it'll be a 6 hr riding trip..

ahh oh, I haven't been down that far with my bike. When ever I was in the bowling green area I was just passing thru on the interstate, or going to the corvette museum.
There is an exit on I-75/40 west that is the best for cloverleafs. It's newer, so the asphalt is clean and not all tore up. What's good about this is that you can do a clover leaf and get onto I-140 going to alcoa, take the kingston pike exit about 1/4 mile down the road and hit another cloverleaf. Well this is where it gets fun, if you don't turn onto kingston pike, the road will cloverleaf back into the other direction and go back a 1/4 of a mile to the interstate exit going to chattanooga, which you then again cloverleaf and you are back onto the exit that cloverleafs back to alcoa. Also, the cops almost never patrol this road. If you keep heading towards Alcoa, I live right off the exit about 3 miles from this place. It is like a drag strip all the way to the airport. There is a dividing wall and if you get up close to the wall and duck down on your bike, a cop can't see you from the other side or even get to the other side. People are know to do 180 on this road all the time. Here is an image:

Yeah but the farther in the city you get, the more greasy they'll be from all the sitting traffic and it'd be slippery on a bikey.
justpucky 08-19-2006, 12:20 PM They are playing Houghton, MI, Oct 21... only show in the midwest. Now I've been thinking about making a run to the UP for a weekend anyway... (best mountains we have in the state are up in the mining region around Houghton anyway.)-- Curves. :D
So Mapquest says 8 hours 500 miles... ride up saturday, getting some seat time... enjoy the show Saturday night, stay in town for some sleep and take all day exploring and heading home Sunday.
Only problem with this plan, is that there is a very reasonable chance that that region will Have snow by the third weed of October... so what's the vote? http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g60/justpucky/fmmap.gif
jeeps84 08-19-2006, 12:29 PM Knowing that area. It will be to cold to enjoy a bike. Then you have to worry about the snow.
justpucky 08-19-2006, 12:31 PM If it were September, I'd do it... but up on the copper tip in late october, I don't think it's quite worth it... with my luck I'd get up there in good weather and wake up sunday morning to a blizzard, wth me on a bike. :sob:
justpucky 08-19-2006, 12:33 PM I just got excited when I saw they were playing Michigan on this tour. They're at another college in MN the next weekend, but that's further away. They aren't playing anything in OH, IL or WI...
But down your way they are playing one site in MO.
justpucky 08-19-2006, 12:36 PM I just stopped by the label's web store... they still sell LP's... now that's a trip.. only $8 for "Swagger"
