ok ladies, what kind of hairspray do you use? i used to use salon selectives (for about the last 15 years), but suddenly they have disappeared from walmart's shelves and i can't find it anywhere! i guess they are going out of business (or already have)? i liked that stuff because it smelled like apples, not like alcohol, and the hold was fantastic. now i am left in a lurch, and nothing holds quite the same. any suggestions?? i know i'm gonna get alot of crap from the guys, but oh well, they can just lump it. a girl needs to look her best, right?

I primarily only use Redken products. They have so many different types of hairspray (I have at least 3 of them, depending on what level of hold I need), and they work GREAT. If you like a non-aerosol fruity scented one, I'd try Garnier Fructis, or Dove. I've got a bottle of the Dove stuff, and while it doesn't smell like apples, it's still a pleasant, sweet scent.

there was a helmet hair thread...i got to find that one... as for hair spray, I rarely use it but I love the Aussie stuff, the purple bottle with the kangaroo...i cant quite pin down the scent but it is a nice one to me...and the hold is pretty good when needed...

I wish I could help you on this one, but I don't use any products in my hair except for the usual shampoo and cream rinse... Heck, when I'm riding, I usually where a bandanna and braid my hair. That way I never get helmet head.

That way I never get helmet head. yeah, i stopped trying to make my hair look decent when i take off my helmet. it's a lost cause there. but i do use hair products when i am not riding. i have a pretty decent assortment of hats i like now for helmet hair purposes. thanks for your input anyways.

shouldnt helmet hair be worn with pride... i know it should be, but i just really, really like my hair. i can't help it, it's an obsession for me. but i am working through it, and that is another story. right now i am more concerned about non-riding times.

my hair still isnt long enought to put in a ponytail or braid, I look like a crazy woman  when I take my helemt off, i keep forgetting the bandanna, but then my hair would just be horribly flat...i usuallu carry a clip in my pocket and put it at least 1/2 when i dont have my helmet on...

i love that aussie stuff i think its ginger that makes it smell so good but i am not sure , but i love paul Mitchell stuff too but that stuff is a little expensive. I have found the trick for helmet hair though, not that i am ashamed of helmet hair or anything :angelhap: , but i love my hair too. I cut it off about 3 years ago for a dude , it was past the top of my jeans then but i will probably never cut it again i hated it. Anyways if you roll your hair upwards kinda like behind you ears and then braid it lightly or twist lightly it and put it on top of your head, then put your helmet on normally it looks ok when you take it off , but my hair is really straight and fine so it may not work if you have thick hair

Ok whats with this potato stuff? and the hair spray , sorry i have lived a very sheltered life but if you can shoot potatos off :yikes: with hair spray i want to know about this :wbs: potato guns. You make them from pvc pipe and glue and use a gas grill as an igniter or a flick flint lighter for a lantern, and hairspray or other combustable spray. they provide hours of fun. Click me for more (http://platinumchromatography.com/potato.htm)
