Cheap toy r/c airplane

A couple days ago on the advice of a friend, I went to target and purchased a air hogs aero ace r/c toy plane. I was thinking, $30 should get you a pretty sh*tty r/c plane. Well After test flying it in heavy wind, I wasn't impressed at all. Then finally I got a calm day and I was like this thing is pretty kick ass cool for $30. I got a $50 gift card from work for doing something good, so I went out and got a second one to mod the crap out of and let my gf fly the normal unmodded one that is easier to fly at the same time. I been flying them everywhere from indoor basketball courts to church parking lots. If you want to play around with an R/C plane without a big investment in tearing up, picking up one of these is definitely the way to go. Here is both of them together...excuse the crappy pics, its from a camera phone. http://img349.imageshack.us/img349/4495/04040621335bk.jpg Here is my modded one where I took off the bottom wings to make it lighter and tons faster. You also have to add some weight to the front and I did that by adding some LEDs (you can use the internal lipo battery or external, I also think some Thill fishing bobber LEDs would be perfect for the less electrically inclined) to it, which is the blurry spots on the sides of the fuselage. This one is a lot harder to fly. Especially indoors... But you can fly at night with the LEDs. http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/1796/04040621347hh.jpg

I've stayed away from R/C planes for fear of it getting away from me due to interference frequencies. I have three "non-toy" R/C cars and considered getting into boats.

R/C's are a blast. Even the cheap ones. I just never got into the planes.

ive been looking to get into R/C helicopters... but when i have played with my R/C cars, ive had a few times where somethign would interfear with my signal/transmiter and the car would do its own thing (go WOT into a wall, turn left or right, not even go) so thats the lat thing i want if i drop 1000 on a R/C helicopter

They make these little dragonfly helis that are attached to a cord. It's basically a trainer. It is fully functional, but you don't have to worry about it flying away or running the battery dead. I was going to buy one before I went out and bought a good heli, but that was before I got the bike and decided I would rather spend money on the bike.
