I don't know.. think about it. If it were that great for ol' Sammy, why the heck did he run for 2 yrs? Makes ya think?! Are the new owners just a messed up as the ones in Tn?!

some people just really love their animals! I would do whatever it took to get one of my babies, especially if they were still being sighted in the area!! And when you rescue something there is a special bond developed...maybe the dog just could not get used to having a real family after being kept pinned up... my hubby and I have a collie that was not mistreated but spent his first year in a dog run out in the back woods of Tennessee, he was terrified of men, tall women, noises, sudden movement, basically everything but me and when we got him we had to literally take his doghouse apart to get him out of it, then lift and carry his 70+ lb butt out and lock the cage so he couldnt get back in...he spent the next 2 years hiding and quivering at the slightest noise and now that we have had him for a little over 4 years he will come out when we have company and sometimes, let other people touch him...he is a great dog, just a little quirky...maybe Sam is the same...

There seems to be a lot of animal mistreatment in TN. At least once a week someone is on the news about getting arrested after mistreating dogs and the police finding like 50 dead dog bodies in cages in their redneck trailers.
