Firefox browser

I normally dont use IE to browse, however since i got this mac laptop I dont seem to be able to view TWF on Firefox. Anyone else having problems? I think on my windows machine the Firefox browser works fine. Is it the mac? If nobody knows, i will look into it further and find the answer for us all.

I used to Firefox as my main browser, till it starting acting up with TWF and some other sites..kept coming up to the privacy policy page..i could then view new posts, and use it as usual, and still can..but Chris turned me onto Avant Browser (www.avantbrowser.com) has the tab feature like Mozilla, but I like alot better then Firefox. you also might try Crazy Browser (www.crazybrowser.com) As far as I know, they will both work with Macs, but you'll wanna double check. :)

Yeah, I rock. It took a while to get use to the advant but now I could never go back to IE!

I only use Avant when I sit at Matt's comp on the weekends. :) It is pretty sweet.

What is IE? I don't have any of that new fangled stuff available on my Vic 20. I do have the optional tape drive though - I can save a .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 kb program in like 48 hours - it is fast as hell! Plus the fact that I can hook it up to my 1973 monochrome green and black monitor is so kick ass. I just waxed my 300 baud modem and it is FLYING! I am connecting at least 300.0000000001 on my awesome AOL Version .01. I love the internet! Ok have to go adjust my kanutin valves and add some blinker fluid to the Vic 20, you know how unstable these things are. Hope I was able to help with your problem.. :whistle:

alright. i will see if i can look into the firefox problem. perhaps something else on the computer needs to be updated. i dont want 500 browsers, but i will check out the ones you suggested when i have some time. thanks

There's been some behind the scenes stuff thats been going on with Shan always looking to improve us, so that would be a logical assumption, but I guess we'll have to wait for the boss to chime in.

According to a friend of mine, I believe that there was an html tag left open. Apparantly IE is more forgiving in that respect.

I have used IE for the longest time and tried a few others from time to time. But I have never had a problem with it. So I guess I am luck. :D

i have never had problems with it either. its the problems going on behind you back that you dont know about that get to me. No matter what you use, you're not full prove, but with IE, you're just asking for someone to get you, lol....

I finally had time and remembered to load Firefox.. Just started using it but I like it better than IE so far.. Of course the "stubborn" one - my fiancee - will not have anything to do with it because "IE works just fine" - lol.. I could give her $100 and she still would refuse to use it just for the principal.. I loaded it at work but it had problems with the T1 line.. Maybe because I didn't import all the IE settings? I know some other people use it there without a problem.. Seems to work good on here anyways.. I am going to keep using it.. F*ck microsoft and IE.. Bill Gates can blow me..

I still have a PC at home with a 286 chip and Works for windows, with a dot matrix printer that uses typewriter ribbons. It had 4 fonts and 6 sizes. It was cutting edge technology with a 15K modem!!

Yeah firefox is a very lightweight browser..meaning it only comes with the bare essentails needed to browse the net...most of what makes it unique,is that you download the extensions that make it user friendly with things like flash, search, tab options etc. basically..you only install what you want, not what bill gates thinks u need ! bill gates can bite me too.. I'll take avant browser or FF anyday!

Oh and if you ever want to "speed" up your DSL or Cable by opening your bandwidth I highly recommend this site - but first go do a speed test before, download the generic patch and install, reboot and then do a speed test - you will be amazed at the difference.. I could get into the specifics, etc. but basically it modifies your registry so when it says changes are being made to the registry let it.. Speed Patch (http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php)

Ok now I am p/w but I installed the Avant and I think Firefox is faster.. I will try them both though and make a decision.. I like how Avant automatically installed my favorites, etc. not like Firefox that had to "import" them.. But it doesn't really seem faster or better after the initial run.. Only time will tell..

FF may be faster but that isn't always the best thing! Avant doesn't have all the holes that IE and many others have.

Last I checked Avant was just an IE plugin. I used to use it until SP2 came out but then I abandoned it because I can't stand IE's information bar (even when I told it to go away it still appeared). I've been using FireFox ever since. Avant was nice for a while though seeing as FireFox had many issues before it's 1.0 release.

I use the Fox. I like becuase i create my own coding and plug-ins for the browser un-like Ie where i had to hack it bits. i created tabs for fire fox and whole bunch of skins. I found Fox being much faster and reliable.

I don't know Becca... I'm about 90% sure Avant is completely stand alone!

Well Gasman I said that because their website claims it is the fastest browser around.. Doesn't seem true to me.. The thing that annoys me is the $15 paypal box that pops up every time you open it - I haven't even seen if I want to use it why the f&ck would I pay $15?

I think you can check a box to ignore that PayPal thing...then it will never ask you again.... I forgot that was even there. Got rid of that like on day 2... Don't know about the fastest browser claim....I like it for other reasons...
