I had a minor get off the very first time I rode my bike. It was a slow U-turn, target fixation on a curb, and over the bars into the grass. That was the ZX-6E back in 04. I did have a close call yesterday morning though. I took an exit ramp that I look forward to every morning enroute to work. Well, its was like 39 yesterday morning and the back end slipped out on me. Yeah I know, cold tires and attempting my Rossi/Mladin impersonation, lesson learned.

Pulled a rookie mistake on my 02 ninja zx6r. Saw that I was going to fast around a corner so I stood it up and went right off the road. I slid pretty good and got some good road rash. 1500 dollars worth of damage

Any of you guys played football? I know that in both Rugby league and Aust Rules, the mantra is "if you go in hard, you won't get hurt, it's only when you go in half arsed that you tend to get hurt" Same on bikes. I crashed at Eastern Creek not long back because I panicked going into a corner hard, tried to stand it up, and whammo! Seems every time I've crashed, it's been because I was riding hard, and then tried to "uncommit" The answer to your question is "Yes, Lots!!!":dthumb:

I've kissed pavement. I was coming up on a turn and as I got closer I saw a big patch of sand. Panicked and hit the brake while trying to turn anyway. Wow the bike slid out from under me so fast, I blinked and I was on my duff.

I had a major one! I T-boned a car in an intersection. Bike was totaled, front forks were ripped off the frame. I came out very good. Just minor road rash. I saw the guy coming thru the intersection and I locke up my rear tire. Then relaized nothing I could do so me and the bike parted differnet ways. To say the bike lost and I went sliding down the road about 75 feet.

Not yet. (we aren't counting dirt bikes right??) 9 years on a bike and I haven't had it down yet. But then again Im a wuss. I had my F4I for a whole summer and I think the front wheel was off the ground twice. My friends call me "grandpa" cause I ride like and old man. I guess Im ok with it I just hope that if I do go down its my fault and not because car pulled out or cut me off or anything. Im not too scared of laying it down since I ALWAYS wear leathers but if you get hit or hit a car or truck leathers might not do much. I did watch my dad go down right in front of me. We came to a stop sign, and the road we were turning on to had a big curve just up the road from us. He looked and didn't see any traffic so he started to go. Then a car came around the corner so he decided to wait since he knew I was behind him. grabbed a handfull of front break and the front tire was on gravel or something and just went sideways on him. I don't even think he was moving when it hit the ground. No damage to the bike or him so it turned out ok, just had his pride hurt a little but that heals.

Yeah I crashed pretty hard when I was 15 on a CR 250. I forgot where I was and caught a 3/8 in cable across the coller bone and neck. Something like 48 stiches or something. Thank God the post that was holding the cable up broke. I didn't let it keep me down though, I was back on before I got the stiches pulled!

There Are 2 Types Of Motorcycle Riders 1.the Ones That Have Went Down. 2.the Ones That Are Going To Go Down. Ride Smart. I've been down at the GAP near the Cherohola Skyway. It was wet and rainy all week which wasn't going to stop us from riding. I was following to close when my friend passed his turn and slammed on his brakes. It was either I smash into his new R6 or I go off the road into a ditch. I chose the ditch and hit a ramp of a rock pile and flew up in the air and landed on my side. I was basically still on the bike. not much damage at all except a few little scrapes on the paint, and bent handle bars which I got fixed about a 1/2 hour later. Lesson Learned #1 KEEP YOUR DISTANCE!!!
