Goodbye to the RC

I hate to get rid of this bike because it is a beast of a bike, it handles better and holds a line better than any other bike I've ridden but it is not that great of an all around bike. I bought an 05 ZX6R for comfort / mpg and so far I really like it. Has anyone make a switch from a 1000cc down to a 600 bike? I don't think the power difference is going to bother me much because I never even came close to utilizing the full potential of the RC. Also if anyone is interested I am selling my RC51..It's an 03 with 3900 miles, jardines and it's still under the factory warranty until July of this year. (I bought it new last July). what kinda milage you gettin out of the zx?

I'm not sure yet, I'm still on my first tank of gas....

I've went back and forth between the 6's and the 1000' for several years. The biggest difference you will notice, you have to keep the lill 6's up in the RPM's to get them to pull. You cant let them lug around and simply twist the throttle. The smaller cc's require a down shift or two as well for those quick getaways.

I've been going back and forth riding the RC and the 6R, up top the power difference is slim if any. The main things I notice is the Rc holds a line like nothing I've ever experienced and it has gobs of torque down low. I can live without all the torque down low, besides I think it's more exciting to ride up in the 8-10k range. I ordered a stabiler for the zx so that will help me to stay a little more planted in the twisties... Overall I think I will be happier with the zx over the RC.. Ryan

:tt: Gas mileage...sorry...It wasn't as bad as everyone was saying it would be (27mpg) I would get about 120ish to the tank. I once got 150 on all highway driving which turns out to be about 38.

I can live without all the torque down low, besides I think it's more exciting to ride up in the 8-10k range. Ryan I'll take torque down low. In tight curves and steep hills, taking off from a green light, or city streets, you can't be in the 8-10k range.

I have a 600 rr and it is an outstanding bike light and fun eaiser to handle and yes the gas is better or I guess if you lay off the throttle its better any bike in the high r's is not going to get great gas mileage but you will find unless you really have to go 200mph the 600 is an excellent choice. Save on Ins. as well.
