Ok I am about to make my decision on an exhaust. What does everyone think about a Leo Vince slip on for the 03 R1?

Get a micron. That would be sweet. I've heard what the Micron sounds like and it sounds good, but it's a little more than what I want to spend for a slip on. I found a Leo Vince for $266.95 from www.indysuperbikes.com I can't find it that cheap anywhere.

I have seen and heard many Leo's... they are good!

I think the exhaust would cover that up. I already had a yoshi on the SV, so I want to go with something else this time. I just want a nice pipe, not too loud, and not too expensive.:2cents: I think I found the cheapest place I can find the Leo at $266. and everywhere else I look its $350ish+ I'm also needing a new rear tire soon, and looking for a 2 pc leather suit. I already ordered the Puig double bubble screen.....so I need to watch my budget a little.

Did you call SW on it? no, I check out their site and all I could see there was the full exhaust and no slip ons. Also I check every place I could online and they were all priced about $350-$400+ range. I thought it was a misprint or something, but I called indysuperbike and it was no misprint.

I'm interested to see how that goes for you. I might get one from them for my SV.

My exhaust showed up today right before I left for lunch. I have it all opended up, and I'm hoping to put it on today, but we'llsee how it goes since it is still going to rain today at some point in time. My 4 tires came in today also.

It only took about 10 minutes to slip it on and be done with it. I started up my bike with no can on it for a quick few seconds and it sounded like a D&D :puke: :lol: Well since it's not raining I am going to go take a quick spin. Ok I took out the R1 since I put the exhaust on, and WOW does it sound good! I was very supprised to hear it sound so well. Maybe it's just me, but I think it is even more responsive now, then what the stock pipe had. I also can't believe how well the color of the can matches my liquid silver paint. Thanks, I am really impressed with this exhaust, I actually like it more than the Yoshi I had on the SV. This exhaust isn't as loud as the yoshi was either. However they do make totally different sounds. I did notice the Can started to sound better after I rode for 70 miles which I guess it's starting to break in a little bit. Ahh sweet! We are staying at the hotel in Fontana Village. Normally we stay at the campground, however every year we go at this time of year we get poured on with rain, so we decided to get a hotel this time. We rented a cabin a couple years ago and that was sweet, but I am there to ride, and not sleep. That's why I like to camp out since it's so cheap...but the rain does suck! Let me know if you get to stay in that cabin. I'm getting so hyped up since it's only a few weeks away now.:willy: :willy:

Thanks Gas Man! I still can't get over the throttle and power response on it. I kept telling myself when I was out on my ride earlier today that it feels like more power betwwen 3k and 8k. Well when I got home I busted out the manual and read everything on it, and sure enough its got the dyno chart in there between the stock can and leo can. Its power peak difference is from 3k-8k rpm. lol I was dead on it!

However, I'd want a seat cowl, and I bet the high mount would run right into my turn signals. I'd have to replace those. So, I'm looking at $266 for a regular mount, or over $400 to do a high mount and make it look good...

High mount will not work with Hamicad, if you plan on leaving stock or close to stock stalk indicators.

I think I'll just stick with the regular mount.

My new project bike has a high mount Leo carbon fiber. Its at Bee's house right now. I will be taking pics of it tonight. I gotta go work on it after work.

I am not sure if the holes are already drilled for the rivets, which I would REALLY like to have the aluminum plate on there instead. so how does it sound????? Lets see a video clip!!!

This isn't leo vince related, but my bro's D&D finally came in. Good freakin god it is loud and annoying. I officially designated him to either ride way in front of me or behind me at all times. Nice pipe jtemple, what do you think of the weight of the original can? LOL! Get some micro arrows or something, you need to get rid of those ugly ass stock indicators.

Man, the stock pipe is horridly heavy! My bike runs a bit cooler with the new one, probably because it's a free flowing can. I'll get some nice signals later on. Right now, my priorities are a throttle lock and Corbin seat. I plan on doing some road trips this summer. Possibly Sturgis. I can't get over how nice the Leo Vince sounds. Loud enough to get noticed, but not loud enough to be annoying. I think it's perfect. Too bad we're so far away from each other, I'd like to hear your Holeshot vs. my Leo Vince.

jtemple: I heard a leo today at the gap. Sounds good, a little bit softer note than my holeshot and has a different growl to it. Both sound great, but I am happy with my holeshot. Heard a bunch of different pipes on SVs today. Holeshot is still my favorite, but a carbon devil was probably my next favorite. Yoshis are just too quiet. I am glad I didn't get one. They sound great, but just too quiet. Well I should say slipons, I heard some full exhausts and the micron is a beautiful piece of equipment. That is my favorite so far. marko: A+++++ on grips.
