Ok I am about to make my decision on an exhaust. What does everyone think about a Leo Vince slip on for the 03 R1?

Get a micron. That would be sweet. R1up0n1 05-06-2006, 05:43 PM Get a micron. That would be sweet.
I've heard what the Micron sounds like and it sounds good, but it's a little more than what I want to spend for a slip on.
I found a Leo Vince for $266.95 from www.indysuperbikes.com
I can't find it that cheap anywhere. Gas Man 05-07-2006, 08:41 AM I have seen and heard many Leo's... they are good! DLIT 05-07-2006, 12:06 PM Micron's are too big IMO. Leo's sounds god IMO. You should get GYT-R, or at least look into them. They are made by Graves. lowbudgetpimpin' 05-07-2006, 12:38 PM one word for ya Akrapovic............all the best things in life don't come cheap. GYT-R is a very loud can.:2cents: oh and I don't want to spend that much on a can. R1up0n1 05-07-2006, 12:58 PM one word for ya Akrapovic............all the best things in life don't come cheap.
That's my dream exhaust but I don't want to put out the money for it. R1up0n1 05-07-2006, 11:15 PM  I guess I will call tomorrow and order the Leo Vince. jeeps84 05-07-2006, 11:17 PM  I guess I will call tomorrow and order the Leo Vince.

I tried to listen to it here, but it just doesn't do justice. You can listen to the dyno run, and sound test for each. http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0410_pipe_clips/ jeeps84 05-07-2006, 11:20 PM it isn't too raspy, or too loud is it?

Yeah I guess that's what it comes down to. Yami's are known for noisy valve chatter, and I hear it on mine. I think the exhaust would cover that up. I already had a yoshi on the SV, so I want to go with something else this time. I just want a nice pipe, not too loud, and not too expensive.:2cents:
I think I found the cheapest place I can find the Leo at $266. and everywhere else I look its $350ish+
I'm also needing a new rear tire soon, and looking for a 2 pc leather suit. I already ordered the Puig double bubble screen.....so I need to watch my budget a little. R1up0n1 05-10-2006, 06:04 PM I just ordered the Leo Vince Aluminum (Titanium) today. It should be here mid/late next week.

no, I check out their site and all I could see there was the full exhaust and no slip ons. Also I check every place I could online and they were all priced about $350-$400+ range.
I thought it was a misprint or something, but I called indysuperbike and it was no misprint. jtemple 05-10-2006, 06:59 PM I'm interested to see how that goes for you. Yeah I know. I don't think they would have beat it, but I guess it's too late now since I already ordered it. R1up0n1 05-17-2006, 11:38 AM My exhaust showed up today right before I left for lunch. I can't put mine on today anyway, I don't have the tools necessary to do it. It probably isn't at my house yet anyway. I will have it for the rally and that is all that is important. Mine is already on! You really don't need any tools then what comes with your bike. What sucked is I had to take off my belly pan fairing to get the pipe off. It only took about 10 minutes to slip it on and be done with it.
I started up my bike with no can on it for a quick few seconds and it sounded like a D&D :puke:

Oh yeah, I forgot about the SV having one continous pipe. R1up0n1 05-17-2006, 06:35 PM Ok I took out the R1 since I put the exhaust on, and WOW does it sound good! I was very supprised to hear it sound so well. Maybe it's just me, but I think it is even more responsive now, then what the stock pipe had.
I also can't believe how well the color of the can matches my liquid silver paint. I think over all I made a really good choice.

Thanks, I am really impressed with this exhaust, I actually like it more than the Yoshi I had on the SV. This exhaust isn't as loud as the yoshi was either. However they do make totally different sounds.
I did notice the Can started to sound better after I rode for 70 miles which I guess it's starting to break in a little bit.
Ahh sweet! We are staying at the hotel in Fontana Village. Normally we stay at the campground, however every year we go at this time of year we get poured on with rain, so we decided to get a hotel this time. We rented a cabin a couple years ago and that was sweet, but I am there to ride, and not sleep. That's why I like to camp out since it's so cheap...but the rain does suck!
Let me know if you get to stay in that cabin. I'm getting so hyped up since it's only a few weeks away now.:willy: :willy: Gas Man 05-17-2006, 11:15 PM I love the look of the pipe!!! The silver looks like its close to your paint!

Thanks Gas Man! I still can't get over the throttle and power response on it. I kept telling myself when I was out on my ride earlier today that it feels like more power betwwen 3k and 8k. Well when I got home I busted out the manual and read everything on it, and sure enough its got the dyno chart in there between the stock can and leo can. Its power peak difference is from 3k-8k rpm. lol I was dead on it! Earlzach 05-17-2006, 11:54 PM Looks and sounds good.:dthumb: R1up0n1 05-18-2006, 04:34 PM Looks and sounds good.:dthumb:

For your SV you can get the Regualar mount slipon for $266.95 which is what I paid for mine, or the High mount for $315.95.
http://www.indysuperbike.com/customer/home.php?cat=29600 jtemple 05-18-2006, 07:36 PM I like the high mount. Will that come with all the necessary hardware to remove the rear pegs? I'd like to get rid of them alltogether and put a seat cowl on. I think that looks slick.
Also, I bet it will hit my factory rear turn signals, with my Hamicad Fender Eliminator on there. Vol? Do you know anything about that?
I'm not sure if a high mount is worth the extra money, once you factor in all the extra stuff I'd have to buy to do it right. R1up0n1 05-18-2006, 09:21 PM I like the high mount. Nice pipe jtemple, what do you think of the weight of the original can? LOL!
Get some micro arrows or something, you need to get rid of those ugly ass stock indicators. jtemple 06-05-2006, 09:38 PM Man, the stock pipe is horridly heavy!
My bike runs a bit cooler with the new one, probably because it's a free flowing can.
I'll get some nice signals later on. Right now, my priorities are a throttle lock and Corbin seat. I plan on doing some road trips this summer. Possibly Sturgis.
I can't get over how nice the Leo Vince sounds. Loud enough to get noticed, but not loud enough to be annoying. I think it's perfect.

I will probably hear a leo this week because of the rally. I will let you know how they stack up. Have you done that TRE or TPS mod I posted up a few days ago. It's like a whole new bike in low rpms and half throttle twists for me. Might be something to look into. jtemple 06-05-2006, 10:28 PM Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I heard a leo today at the gap. Sounds good, a little bit softer note than my holeshot and has a different growl to it. Both sound great, but I am happy with my holeshot. Heard a bunch of different pipes on SVs today. Holeshot is still my favorite, but a carbon devil was probably my next favorite. Yoshis are just too quiet. I am glad I didn't get one. They sound great, but just too quiet.
Well I should say slipons, I heard some full exhausts and the micron is a beautiful piece of equipment. That is my favorite so far.
