men posting in the ladies section

It seems that when I'm reading through the womens section , there are those guys that apologize for posting. Why?! Just because it's the ladies area doesn't mean that you shouldn't post here. Now I can't speak for all the ladies on this board but, I find the male point of view just as informative as the ladies. I think it's great that a lot of you men have opinions on dating, sex, hair spray, feminine hygiene products  etc etc... As for the opinions expressed on riding, I love to hear from the men!! The positive (and negative) feed back is vital for us ladies. The sport bike community has, in a whole, been geared toward men. We women are new to the game. (even tho there are a few of us that have doing this for x amount of yrs.) You men that have been out and about on two wheels for years have insider information that I myself, find vital. We ladies are a little more sympathetic in certain cases, and more supporting of each other only because that's the way God created us. (<~ not to offend those who do not believe in a higher power) But it's also important for us ladies to hear BOTH sides of the issue. Sometimes a hard dose of reality is in order. I myself just wanted to tell you guys "Thank You!" :dthumb: And please do not refrain from posting here just because the title of this section says "Womens Riding Corner"

On many other sites, the Women's Only area is just that -- no men allowed. And oftentimes, men will get bashed for adding in their $0.02. Personally? I'm with you... I appreciate their input, and often, the guys have a different POV (whether it's about riding, or not) that we girls might not have thought of. I welcome the guys posting here.... :dthumb:

It's all good in the hood! Hey, we like it when you ladies post up too! Especially about what you guys think of certain things.

i have no problems with men posting in the ladies section, as long as it is relative to the topic at hand. sometimes the guys like to make jokes, which is fine, but not always exactly helpful. as long as they are respectful i have no problem. but i ask, why have a women's corner if it is free for all? why not just post the question in the general area for all to answer? just as long as the fellas are sensitive to the topic their input is more than welcome. that's all i ask. :dthumb:

Even though men are ALLOWED to post in here, they don't dominate the women's area as they do other areas... so for a new female member who's possibly shy, it might be less-intimidating to post a question here. Also, if someone wants to post about something of a personal nature (i.e. the eHarmony thread), that guys may not want to read about, it's safer to do so in here. Hey, if a guy comes into the girl's area, and finds a thread about (hypothetically speaking ) tampons, he can't complain! Guys have to realize we might cover some sensitive topics in here, so enter at their own risk! :dthumb:

I realize that most of the the guys posts is useful info, but they aren't really going to be able to tell (from a woman's perspective) how certain gear fits or a preference on tampons...

I'll be honest with you ladies...I usually don't even realize it's in the ladies section until someone else says something. I just click new posts and start :whore:'ing. With no regard to what section something is in.

half the time I don't know which subforum a thread is at because I usually pick which ones I read from the most recently updated...

Yeah I have to pay attention to the sections so I can move them to the correct section but I understand because I don't always get them on the first time.

it's not that big a deal. usually you guys will realize upon reading the thread that it is directed at the ladies. don't worry about it. so far everyone has been respectful therefore no problems have arised from it. i say, if you have something useful to add to the conversation feel free to post it. that's what makes this place so great. :dthumb:

Post something really exciting and relavent, but much like someones avatar, I simply stopped caring by the time I got to the last post ! :yikes: However, I think Itgirl summed it up perfectly. That is why :twfrox: , because so far, most of the members here are very considerate & mindful that this area belongs to the ladies, and we men are guests in here ! Ladies, you all are great ! Steve.
