Hey everyone, i was just looking for some advice if someone was in the same position as i am or know a solution... i have a 2004 Ninja 500. Now i know it's not the fastest bike in the world, but i was interested in getting involved in some stunting myself, but don't want to F#$k up my bike too bad... so i have been looking FOREVER for a crash cage that will fit the bike, but no luck. :cursin: i understand it's not a popular bike for that sort of stuff, but i was wondering if anyone knew a crash cage that i could modify my bike somehow to make it fit or know of somewhere i could get one for my 500, thanks.

You aren't going to find a stunt cage for that bike... just get some good sliders.... Try... http://www.freestyleingenuity.com/

I have an 06 Ninja 500r. Stunting is definitely not gonna happen on the bike. It is my first bike and it is fun. The only time i have ever done any real stunts on it were by accident. My first night riding i rode a wheelie for about 50 feet on accident. Gunned it too hard on the take off. WAY TOO HARD!!!!. Hit like 10k rpm in first, surprised i didn't blow the engine or something. The other night i was riding with a friend who has a ninja 10r. He dusted me on the take off and i was trying to catch up on a rural road. I was cruising about 85 and came around a corner. To my surprise he was stopped 50 feet in front of me at a red light. I locked up my back tower and laid tread for a good solid 60 feet. For about 3 seconds though i laid on my front break and ended up in a stoppie. Nearly s@&t myself. Hence my signature about accidental stoppies.

*-_SnOCoNe_-* Your best bet would be to take a pic of a bike with a cage and your bike to a welding shop. Get them to make you one.

you can do plenty to it... power--- it doesnt need more hten the 50 it has... one word to stunt it... GEARING. Go down one tooth up front and all the way up to about a 62 tooth rear... but just advise... u cant do that if u intend to ride at freeway speeds... it will tach out at around 70. But my old EX500 has lots done. 2:1 Jardine race exhaust, all smog and airbox equip. removed, rejetted. I was gonna use to to stunt since its a 91 with over 25,000 miles. But the brakes up front dont thrill me, still i wanna use it for slow wheelies. Also...put the softest tires u can find to fit the rim....youll need em. And yeah good sliders will do a ton or a shop can bend and weld steel tubing for ya for a fair cost. If you stunt it out, plan on spending close to 1000$ to get it ready and protected... need a bigger(longer) stronger chain too. If you do all that to it, keep it cuz resale isnt gonna be good when it gets all F'd up... hence why i still have mine to teach new riders on.

I had a -1 on the front and it did wonders for the city riding!

if u want it to have the power to stunt easy.. u can get over 80HP with the EX500... but plan on a lot of money... ill give ya 2 sites that u can really get a lot of bang for the buck on.. a aluminium subframe, lightneded flywheel and gearing will give ya more hten enough power though... one site has a sleeved 600cc kit for it...essentially making it 50ccs short of a 650R.... they have cams and a ton of other stuff... theyve got a 78HP 310lb racebike EX500 thatds pretty cool with the frame stiffened and everything.. check em out... all the power mods u could possibly do to her. http://www.enginedynamics.com/ http://www.brgracing.com/ex500.html and one more mod that could be very good for ridability with mods http://www.flo-commander.com/ turn it into a 310lb 83 HP bike and thats a real competitor on the track with it that stiff and the right suspension.. could be fun... but not worth the 5K$ you would spend to do it.

Try the stuntlife.com forums. I think there are a couple of people stunting 500R's. :luck:

Someone post some pics of stunting 500s. NOW! I am trying to work on getting to ride a wheelie on my 500r. It is a slow process because i use it as my everday driver for the gas mileage. I don't wanna lay it down so i take slow, baby steps and just pop minor wheelies, bringing a few inches off the ground. The bike has enough power to do it even with my 250lb ass on it but it isn't much of a parking lot stunter. Any stunting with it being a factory 06 is gonna have to be done at some pretty decent speeds. I could just always scoot to the back of it and let it raise up, toying with that a little too. Can be some scary stuff though, had a few calls where i let off clutch a little too quick or with a little much throttle, never came close to laying it down, just close to losing control. If i can get some pics of me, all 250lbs, stuntin on a 500r kawi would u ladies and gents be impressed? LOL.

Search for a 70 tooth sprocket. You'll be able to wheelie easy.

i think down one in the front and a 60 tooth rear would make it easy...70 would make it get crap mileage and impossible to ride on the freeway, even a 55 tooth would prob come up pretty easily.
