ShanMan14 06-02-2006, 11:20 AM Check it out (http://kitty.rideicon.com/)
...features a new product that we have not even shown to the dealers yet. Ladies Kitty riding apparel has been available for 18 months now and made a huge hit with the riders. Black, white/light blue and pink Kitty products can be seen on riders and passengers at almost every rally and bike night. We are now the first motorcycle apparel company to introduce lavender. Check it out, if you're a woman you know you want it. If you're a man you know you want to see the women wearing it.
Again, don't be surprised if your dealer has not seen them yet. Icon is sold to the dealers through Drag Specialties and Parts Unlimited so your favorite dealer can easily check to see that these new items are available now. But hurry, these limited lavender Kitty jackets and chaps will only be available for a short time.
neebelung 06-02-2006, 11:46 AM I'm diggin' it...... It's not ME, but I like the color, and I love that it's something OTHER than pink or blue!! :dthumb:
EnAhors 06-02-2006, 01:30 PM I'm diggin' it...... It's not ME, but I like the color, and I love that it's something OTHER than pink or blue!! :dthumb:
:iagree: Not sure about the whole fringe/gunslinger thing, but I do love that color.:dthumb:
itgirl25 06-02-2006, 01:35 PM that looks sharp! i'd totally buy it if i were a pastel colors kinda girl. i'd hafta paint the bike lavendar then though. i wonder how that'd look?! probably :gary: .
:puke: I hate purple..it's such a pink wanna be...
R1up0n1 06-02-2006, 11:08 PM :skep: I'm not big on the color. I'm not a female so what do I know besides I wouldn't wear it.
Gas Man 06-03-2006, 12:22 AM Yeah I'm not likin the purple.
itgirl25 06-03-2006, 06:59 AM Yeah I'm not likin the pink.
you mean you're not likin' the purple, right?
itgirl25 06-03-2006, 07:03 AM that kitty gear is for girls that wanna make a fashion statement. definately not me...i don't mind the masculine reds/blues/blacks of regular gear. i'd rather match the bike than make it obvious i'm a girl. i like the stuff, i'd just never buy it.
Gas Man 06-03-2006, 05:09 PM you mean you're not likin' the purple, right?
Yeah.... that's what I meant.

tee hee hee, i just painted my bike to match my gear:lol: actually i already wanted to make it pink, the gear came later!!! I like the lavendar, but its not bold enough for me, and i really dislike the gunslinger fringe thing, that IMO is horrible! I ride a sport, not a cruiser...even if I did have a cruiser I wouldnt be caught dead in fringe...
Gas Man 06-04-2006, 11:19 PM I'd bang her...
Who the purple model chick?
Pippi 06-05-2006, 09:24 AM Not diggin' the purple :sorry:
I saw a girl at the Gap who was done up in pink from top to bottom, I mean everything was pink - Pink bike, pink helmet, the whole pink icon kitty gear from head to toe. She was definitely there to make a fashion statement!
jeeps84 06-05-2006, 09:30 AM :iagree: Not sure about the whole fringe/gunslinger thing, but I do love that color.:dthumb:
You can cut the fringe off.:2cents:
Who the purple model chick?
Yeah. I clicked the link and she spins around so people can see front back and side. She has a nice little butt.
ScottSellersUNR 06-05-2006, 12:57 PM it amazes me they dont make the kitty stuff with real pants.....either all leather or leather with knee sliders.... Chaps are not a sport bike thing. VERY little choice on real riding leather bottoms for woman. the color is ok, she does have a nice but...but looks like a Acup, though the leather hides em well i'm sure
I'm all for womans colors if it gets more woman to wear proper gear, wether rider or passenger.
Anytime you are out just to ride, you should be geared up head to toe
Gas Man 06-05-2006, 01:20 PM Yeah. I clicked the link and she spins around so people can see front back and side. She has a nice little butt.
You're right and :iagree: I'd do her!
I wonder how many people are gonna click on the link now...

jappysRR 06-23-2006, 06:34 AM Good Lord! Is that sh*t ugly! God knows how many years I've been riding, and they still can't make legit gear for women. It annoys me still to this day. The fringe is ghay! the guns are even more ghay! and the fact that the gear itself is cheap and wouldn't hold up in a serious wreck only annoys me more.
Wow, I'm just annoying today! ha!

It was fun spinning her around really fast:crazy:
I don't think I could take a girl wearing something like that very seriously.
And whats with the guns:scratch: .

That's my thinkin'.... if it gets a girl over the "it's not cuuuuuute" objection, and gets her to wear gear, then it's better than nothing!
justpucky 06-23-2006, 12:09 PM "it's not cuuuuuute"
:nonod: :runaway: :smash: :fmer:
If your girls whole attitude is about "CUTE" she doesn't belong on two wheels.

 I AM a girl, you nincompoop!! :bash:
What I was referring to are girls who want to ride (either as a passenger, or on their own), but also are concerned about looking cute (and use the objection of "it's not cute" to not wear proper gear). Yeah, it's easy for you to say they don't "belong" on two wheels, but let's face it, they're going to ride whether you like it or not. So if they'll gear up in Kitty (as opposed to nothing at all), I'm all for it! :dthumb:
justpucky 06-23-2006, 01:02 PM you nincompoop!!
 Why am I a nincompoop?

What I am saying, it that if they are more interesting in CUTE than SAFE. Then in the course of their rides they will almost always be more interested in CUTE than SAFE. Then they get crunched and the rest of us girls (of which I am also) get bad press and more stereotyping.
Yeah, it's easy for you to say they don't "belong" on two wheels,
Sorry if it offended you, but it's my opinion, I will ride or play hockey with the boys over the girls any day.

I'm with ya in that if they're in it for the attention, the looks, looking cute, etc... they're in it for the wrong reasons, but guys are just as guilty (if not moreso) of this sort of thing. Sure, "cute" isn't the adjective they're striving for, but you know what I mean. (and I, too, would opt not to ride with people - girls or guys - with that mindset.
BUT.... they're still going to ride. That's the bottom line. So that being the case, I'd at least prefer they have some protection on in the event of a mishap, that's all. *shrug*
Sorry if it offended you, but it's my opinion, I will ride or play hockey with the boys over the girls any day.
Not offended by what you said above, but entertained that you'd prefer to ride with guys over girls. Mind if I ask why? It's your choice, no doubt, but if a girl is NOT as we decribed above, is a safe and able rider, properly geared up, etc... why on earth would you have any preference of riding with guys over her? To me, they're all the same, regardless of gender (in fact, there's a whole poll on this topic in the General Riding section).
Personally, I ride with 90% guys. Not intentionally, just that's who my (rider) friends are, and who are able to get out and ride at the same times I am. There are plenty of female riders in this area, and while I'm not going to seek them OUT to ride with them based solely on gender (again, something discussed in that other thread), but if a girl's a safe & sane rider, she's welcome to join us anytime!

I suppose it has something to do with the way I grew up. My mother was divorced and working ungodly hours. My older brother couldn't be bothered with walking me to my friends houses, so I ended up hanging with him and his friends. I never learned to make friends with most girls, but I get along fine as "just one of the guys." I just don't understand how most girls think... I have one friend (she rides dirt bikes - is just now switching to road riding) and plays hockey also (that's where we met) And as much as we have in common, there are time I just want to :bash: her. I don't understand her. I have a lot of sympathy for the guys...
That and the fact that putting me in a group of girls is like bringing home a strange cat. I don't deliberatly do anything, I'm not moving in on your litter box, but man, the hackles go up...
Pippi 06-28-2006, 01:32 PM Where you from in Michigan pucky? What do you ride & where you ride at?

 I think this is a true statement for all those of us girls who get along better with guys, the girls tend to get a little "rraow" if they feel threatened  i have learned to shrug it off and laugh, if they are too worried about that to have a good time, forget them!! they need to grow some security!

:iagree: but to put it back in perspective of the original question, if it happens near the beginning of decent group ride... and you plan to take a break or hit a cool restaraunt at the top end of the loop, nobody's having any fun becuase of the attitudes. That's why I prefer to ride with mostly guys. Not that I'll exclude female riders; but the original question was,

Ya know, until this last week, I've always disagreed with this. I've seen so many other girls post on various boards about how the non-riding girls (i.e. the wives and girlfriends that don't ride) act catty toward them. And I always thought "Nah, it's not like that... not here."
HAH!
Holy cow.... WTF is that all about? I just don't understand it!?!?!!?

 have you not run into that? or did you just run into it recently or something? since the time I was a little girl that would rather play football soccer, change my own tiresz, work on my own cars, etc. rather than sit on the playground with dolls or play house...sometimes girls are just weird and they dont accept those girls who dont fit in with what they think a girl should be/act/do...and as we have gotten older those girls who arent "one of the guys" and never will be feel really really threatened by a girl who is...i understand the concept, i guess i have enough self confidence to just do what i want when i want with who i want, i never worry about a boyfriend or hubby being distracted by another girl and leaving, which i think is what the other girls problem is, my theory is, if they are going to leave, it doesnt matter what did it, it was going to happen anyway...
neebelung 06-29-2006, 09:21 AM  have you not run into that? or did you just run into it recently or something?
I hadn't run into it (with adults, that is) until this past week. At first, I took it to heart like, "WTF did I do to you?" But then thinking back, I realized it was a consistent pattern of behavior these women have shown toward women who ride, and I'm just the latest casualty.
So utterly bizzarre.... It's one thing in gradeschool, but it's quite another when you're talking about (supposedly) happily married women in their 30's. :disapp:

Ah, since all of us girls who DO ride have kinda been outcast (by the biotches, anyway), they're safe to ride with. But I'll keep a few guys on hand just to balance out the estrogen.
