This is his new spot now. I've never seen him jump straight up to the ironing board but I guess he can. I thought we lost him last night. It took us ten minutes of looking before we found him in here. Now he's back in there today.
R1up0n1 06-04-2006, 09:18 PM Dude, take the cat for a ride!

jeeps84 06-05-2006, 01:29 AM Personally, I wouldn't want the cat hair all in my jacket. I do like cats, just not the hair and smelly litter box that goes with them.
You should put these pics in the pet corner.

He got a bath 3 days ago. Not too much hair in there. i got a powerful lint brush.
frostz28 06-05-2006, 02:46 AM everything I own has a husky hair liner. Other people say it would drive them nuts but it doesn't bother me at all. Although if I saw my dogs near my leather riding jacket I would flip. they don't chew anything anymore except lether. Anything leather they will chew the crap out of so I made a special box in the garage for all my riding gear.
King Bob 06-05-2006, 05:43 AM If my dog were still in the teething stage, I'd be in hell, luckily he's well past that. we have rules set up, he has his toys, I've got mine. only problem is wolves tend to not listen too well sometimes.
Frost and ZX1000's posts are some of the reasons why I hate dogs. I don't really hate 'em. I just wouldn't want any for a pet. Cats all the way!

That's why I always kept the gear and cloths away from the animals. Cant help but to get hair on the cloths some times just sitting around the house.
I lucked out. We got Dash from a shelter and he's really the best cat I've ever known. He doesn't scratch everything and the only time he pees out of his box is when it's full. So that's really our fault. So I keep it real clean for him...and me. And he loves people. He's all in the cut when I have people over. Best cat ever!
Knight 06-05-2006, 10:42 AM I can't wait to get some pets again. My wife and I really want a dog but we're going to be moving to an apartment in a couple months until we can find a house in the new city and chances are the apartment won't allow pets. I love cats and dogs, I lean more toward a dog because you can take them places (camping or to the beach etc) and play with them, none of the cats I've had ever really liked going on trips....
I've never lived in apartment or a house that lets us have pets. I said F them. I'm getting a cat.

ShanMan14 06-05-2006, 10:55 AM That cat is smarter than the squids on the road!
I hate cats. I had a gf that got a kitten and I really didn't like it. It would always annoy the piss out of me and follow me around like it knew I wanted to kick it. So one day while she was in the bathroom, I saw it playing in a pillow case and then the devil in me took over. I grabbed the case and went helicopter on the kitten. After that, it left me alone. That is not as bad as this guy that lived close to my old house growing up. He got arrested for cruelty because he would bury cats up to their heads and run them over with his lawnmower.

wow :yikes: Vol, that just defies words, that is horrible...i love all animals cept birds!! i HATE birds...maybe cuz I am a cat person for the most part...i have 3 cats right now and 6 dogs...they are my children...and after the whole training phases they are all great!! No potty accidents or chewing, but it really helps that I keep my house pet proof!! i even replaced my carpet with wood floors to make it easier to clean and keep up!! and astonishingly enough, i really dont have a problem with hair on stuff, only on the floors but I clean often...

I was gonna say stop trying to cover your helicopter story up with something some other dude did, but DAMN! That's F'd up. A guy I work with is originally from ohio and he said some guy in Ohio got arrested for doing that too. WTF?
I like all birds except the state bird of tennessee. The evil mockingbird!!! I spent many sleepless nights listening to the stupid thing trying to get a mate at 3am by blaring it's freakin noises that sound like a telephone, alarm clock, laser guns, and various other sounds. It is illegal to kill them, so I had to come up with nonlethal ways of making them move to other areas.
We had a lot of mocking birds in Mass too. i hate those damn birds too.
Knight 06-05-2006, 11:09 AM wow :yikes: Vol, that just defies words, that is horrible...
:iagree: That is one of the sickest things I've ever heared. I know lots of people that don't like cats but none of them would ever think of doing something that horrible. My parents once punished me for "torturing" cats when I was little and sprayed them with water from my squirt gun. I'm with Rae, I love all animals (my degree is in biology) and she's right, if you make your house pet-proof the mess isn't that bad. Like I said, I can't wait to get pets again!

yeah I hate cats, but I could never kill one like that, that guy and people like him have something wrong with their noggins.
Knight 06-05-2006, 11:11 AM Well since we're on to nasty animals now I guess I can concede that I don't love all animals...
i think they should be shot, or better yet, sick as it may be, the same thing needs to be done to them, inasmuch as you can to make them suffer...eye for an eye and all that, and YES, i do think that animals have rights too!! as well as feelings and stuff, my babies are like little furry people, they all have their own personalities, likes & dislikes, etc...they just dont talk back..they try but you can only tell me so much with meow or grrr  i get rather passionate about animals if you cant tell!
oh yeah, i dont mind wild birds...but mockingbirds (in the words of waterboys' mama) are "the devil" i have one at my house for the last 4 years that does the alarm thing and they always tried to dive bomb my outside cats...i am sure they might have deserved it but still!! they came after me one time when I was rescuing my cat!!
I am not real passionate about animals. I hunt too much to be that passionate. Dogs are about the only animal I probably could stand to have as a pet.

ACK!! Bambi killer alert!!! I am crushed that we can be such good friends on here and you are a murderer!!!
JUST KIDDING!!!
I have no problem with hunting as long as you use what you kill, if you shoot'em and leave them to rot however...THAT i have a problem with!!! I LOVE venison, my dad and most of my family are avid hunters, I can shoot a gun and use a compound bow as well, i just cant get into shooting to kill an animal, *shrugs* not my thing...

Yeah, it probably is...but when I was a teenager, There wasn't anyone around as good with a bow...I could rabbit hunt with a bow or handgun...I started learning quail hunting with a bow...My brother-in-law is a master quail-slayer with a bow...
There is only one way to get good...practice, practice, practice...and cats are truly a challenge...
man, quail with a bow. That's hardcore right there. I was never any good when I use to try to bow hunt even with deer. I stick to my rifle and shotgun now.
99birdv6 06-05-2006, 11:36 AM My brother is one of those that hated cats with a passion. When he was younger, he would stick firecrackers in ther arse and lite them up. After that, those stray cats would never come around the house.
Now, I dont hunt so I have no say. I have no problems with hunting at all. But I hate it when hunters call hunting a sport. It would be a sport if the animals had guns too.

That's mild compared to some things we would do...We had an over-population of cats, I can remember we had 25 running around there at one time...and Mom said...get rid of some of the cats...I don't care how...So we did...but we didn't tell her how...plus it was more sporting than catching them with a cage and taking them swimming in a potato sack with a brick...

:iagree: ...but i understand, parts of my family are completely redneckized (to use Vol's new phrase)...and they shoot dogs and cats, among other things...its a country thing, at one time one of my uncles didnt feel like buying cat food so he would just walk outside and shoot a bird down, then let the cats eat it...:nonod: after awhile you didnt see a bird within miles of his place...
Wow, this thread has really changed direction. I feel bad that my cat is the starter of all this madness. J/K.

:iagree: if you have to do population control then at least do it humanely. To think that I always felt bad for spraying that cat with a water gun... I mean I hunt too so I'm not like a PETA nut or anything but I always viewed domestic animals differently, I'd never shoot one except to put it out of its misery if it was going to die anyway.

Ours are FASCINATED by our boots when we come home from riding.... I think since they're housecats, they just love anything that smells like the outside world, but BOOTS are especially entertaining. When they were TINY kittens, we got a couple pics of them jumping in and out of Chris' helmet (we set it on the floor with the visor open so they could investigate).
But I HAVE to hang up our jackets immediately, or they'll claw and scratch them!! :yikes:

We laugh at them...They live like the Clampets... they raise a truck garden and have rabbits...and we hunt rabbits and squirrels with bows and handguns in their woods...Larry has specially tipped arrows that look like potato mashers on the ends he uses for birds and squirrels...

BB guns are fun. Especially when you target shoot a movie poster that was placed on top a kids swing set fort and one of your buddies goes to check out where you hit it and you shoot him in the a** and watch as he falls 6 feet to the ground out of the fort. He wasnt happy about that one.
Dick Cheney would not be a fun hunting partner.

sad to say I have done that as well....Cow tipping was another fun hobby. The subdivison I lived in as a kid was right next to a farm. We use to harrass the cows on a daily basis.
We use to go to the cow feilds and look for shrooms after it rained. We didn't have any luck.

In this instance, yes, BB guns are bad, but I will never forget how much fun I had with mine, but the cardinal rule in my family is that any kind of gun NEVER gets pointed at anything but the ground or the target, unless cleaning but that is not done around people!!

well, it mighta been a pellet gun, but it's all the same to me. it caught the very tippy top of the window right at the seal, it spidered instantly. the only thing that held it together was the defroster coils.
i pulled over and immediately called the police. they did catch the kid, but he was barely punished at all for it, by my standards at least. it also took him nearly 6 months to pay me restitution, and he only needed to pay me the $50deductible for it. it cost insurance $900 to replace the window. he didn't hafta pay the insurance co. back due to being a minor. what a bunch of crap! :here: :cursin:
marko138 06-07-2006, 06:26 AM I love BB guns. But that doesn't mean I go around shooting out peoples windows. That just ain't right.
I try to shoot birds in the yard from time to time but my cheap azz 15 dollar daisy pistol is about as accurate at a sportbike speedometer at 150mph.
