Favorite concerts you've been to. .
The best big production concert I've seen was Pink Floyd at Joe Robbie in 1994 or so. It rained. . they had giant mechanical boards on both sides of the stage, with smoke coming out of their nostrils. Their eyes were headlights, and then they snapped into lasers and started scanning the crowd. It was f'n nuts.
I've been to 5 Grateful Dead shows, and although I hate hippies, those were nuts.
My favorite bands live have been Fishbone, NOFX, and Reverend Horton Heat.
I was lucky enough to be in Hawaii for New Years 2000. For any punk fans, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes were staying there and they'd only played about 3 live shows so far, ever. I met Fat Mike and talked to him for a while which was cool as hell. . that'd be the equivelent of a Zepplin fan meeting Robert Plant. So anyway, they played there that night at some little run down airport on Kauai. . That was probably my most random and memorable concert.
Also got to see Public Enemy in 1991 when Flavor Flav and the S1Ws were still with them.

KISS / Aerosmith Tour in 2003 was way cool! 2 of the greatest rock n roll bands of all time, on the same stage!! What a show, but would have rather seen liv tyler up there with her dad!!
All the pyro & stage productions that is a KISS show combined with the laser lights and classic sound of Aerosmith!!
Also the motley crue Girls Girls Girls tour was something unreal! Back when they were tight and kickin it hard core! saw them in philly and hershey!

Kid has become a "punk" since his old days. I saw him play in '98 at Michigan State @ Ricks and it was pretty cool. Then "Devil Without A Cause" came out and he became a "punk" since.
I've seen DMB a few times, great shows. Way back when I saw Bon Jovi and Poinson probably 7 times. LOL

I saw Pink Floyd in '94 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ. One of the largest production rich shows I've ever seen. The sheer magnitude had me in awe.
Best sounding concert I ever heard was Steely Dan circa 1997. The audio was superb, and it was an outdoor venue to boot. A very close second are the Eagles. Their vocal harmonies are nearly perfect, amazing for live.
Most excited and trembling with anticipation factor: Reunited Van Halen, June of this year on opening night in North Carolina. Great to see them together again.
I saw Metallica with Guns and Roses in 1991 (I think it was '91). In between sets, all of the women were flashing the cameras... for almost two hours. That has to rank up there.
One of my favorites was Harry Connick Jr. I was never a fan, in fact my wife drug me there. I'm still not a fan of that genre, but HCJR is probably the single best entertainer I've ever seen. His interaction with the audience and obvious talent in so many arenas will always stick out in my mind.
Energy... has to be Rob Zombie. Wow, what an energy packed performance. What a rush.

its pretty cool how he shows up un-annouced at local bars/clubs/sporting events and does a quick concert and buys everybody a round of drinks too!! never witnessed this personally but have seen it b/4 and read about it.

That's right, I think we talked about that in a thread a couple years ago.
HCJR would be cool as hell. . not typically what I listen to, but definitely cool.
As for Zombie, I had several chances to see White Zombie and just never motivated to go. I could kick myself now. . same goes for Primus and Nirvana.

I used to work for a catering company that did all of the catering for Hershey Park. I got to see everyone from Madonna to Phil Collins to ZZ Top and so on and so on. It was all free and had back stage passes all the time.

Big Sky f'n rocks. .
I suck at guitar, but if I was good enough to justify it I'd have a Gretzch (sp?) hollow body in a heat beat.
One plus of living here is I get to see him a couple times a year. One of the best live shows ever, he f'n jams. I got to see him quite a few times before Taz quit, that was pretty cool too.
I should be shot b/c I left out one of the best bands around, WEEN. Their shows are great. . half the crowd is pizzed, half love it. Still waiting to see a 30 minute rendition of Poop Ship Destroyer. lol
So horton is pretty well received up there by you northerners huh?

Think you read that in the wrong way. I never said Kid Rock did punk music. Stating he has become a "punk", slang, ya know. Maybe should have just said he sold himself out thats all.

Oh yeah, I 100% agree, Ace. I guess when the whole Vanilla Ice thing didn't work he pursued other avenues.
Horton is on tour constantly. I love smaller shows like that, rarely go to big production ones anymore. Saw TOOL a couple years ago, that was pretty cool.
Been to the Warped Tour a few times. . it's getting a little too commercial now, but they put together some good bands.

My friend and I saw Blink in Chicago several years ago. It was an outdoor stadium and we were left of center in the 2nd row. Absolutely awesome.
Last year we saw Shania Twain and that was pretty damn sweet too. Think we were like 5th row for that but the stage was in the center of the hockey arena floor and she travelled around the edges. Sometimes you were close and sometimes you had to watch the screens.
I don't think anything will top that Blink show though... fire and lots of pyrotechnic pretties!
