Longest lasting tires I've seen so far

I don't know how many of you guys ride the way I do, but these tires are the longest lasting I've ever tried so far. I now have over 12,000 miles on them and the rear has still plenty of meat left. I'm really happy with them. Pretty d*mn good in the rain, too. I got caught one morning and it felt like dry. When I was riding on I68 and I79, I tried doing 90+ mph on those curves and they hold pretty good. So, if you guys are doing a lot of highway and occasional twisties, and looking for a long lasting set of tires, I highly recommend these.

in full agreement

That's what I put on my 749 when my OEM Michelin Pilots were starting
to wear at the 10.5K mark (no, I don't shred my tires). I also like that
they're made in England not Asia, and that when I asked the U.S. Dist.
for a free t-shirt (to help them advertise), they came through for me.
Good choice!

The tires have over 13,000 miles as of today. I have a feeling the rear will last until 15,000 miles. We'll see. Saves me a lot of money on tires and mounting. The rear's still looking good. Unbelievable.

I'm going to need a new rear tire and remembered this post, Sleeper where did you get yours from and how much should I expect to pay approx for a rear? I use my CBR to commute to work weather permitting and we ride evenings and weekends on the twisties of Western, NC I want a good all around tire that will last a bit. My bike has the OEM Battleax's right now...

You should expect to pay about 149.00 for a 180.

Just want to update you folks, my Avon Storms have now over 16,400 miles on them and still in good shape. Simply amazing. Here's a picture of the rear.

I completely agree with ya Red....Avons are all I buy now, although I'm not quite getting the mileage that you get, it's still alot more than the other brands that I've tried.

What kind of bike are you using them on ?

I use them on my '07 Hayabusa. Not sure if you remember, I bought her September 27, '07 and she now has over 33,000 miles on her. I got the Avons when she had 16,100 miles on her. Can you believe the tires have now over 17,000 miles on a Busa (heavy bike) and still have meat left on both front and rear. Like I've said before, simply amazing.

Amazing indeed, sleep_red are the roads your primarily travel straight aways? I ride my bike to work as much as possible which is a straight interstate drive, then on evening and weekends we like to corner carve and take advantage of the mountainous roads offered by Western, NC such as Deals Gap, THe snake off of 421 and local roads here that are curvy. Certainly tame by your standards but I went back and looked, I put 2700 miles on my bike in two months of riding, not including the miles I put on my wife's bike. That's why I wanted to go with the Avons to avoid changing tires every 3 months or so.

I'd say I travel highways 80% of the time and do some high speed sweepers once in a while. I don't drag knees or anything like that. I remember one guy from another forum, I think it's Pashnit (Tim) posted a picture of his knee puck that was scraped and he's also running the Storms and he said that they are also good for occasional knee dragging. These tires are that good. Just imagine how much money I've saved for the last 17,000 miles. I remember when I used to run PP's, I buy the rear every 4,000 miles or so.

i got Busa this year in March..it has done over 2000miles till now, and with that experience of yours i can imagine that next year also, it is not one of the major expenditures for me. they are still good to withstand another 15000-17000 miles
