Motorcycle Mags.

Im sure most of us subscribe to atleast one motorcycle magazine that we read cover to cover as soon it comes to our mailbox. Which ones do you subscribe to, which one(s) dont you like?

Im a long time annual subscriber to motorcyclist and sportrider. Read them religously every month. I really dont care for Cycle World to be honest. There comparisons seem to be off alot of times from the 2 mags that I get..and while thats not necessarily a bad thing, or right or wrong. I just think the guys at Motorcyclist/sportrider have their act together in terms of testing/editorials alittle better, but that's just me. I like Mitch Boehm's articles alot. I dont always totally agree with everything they write or vote for in comparos..but overall, its normally pretty good stuff. :bike:

2WT of course! I also get Sportrider and from time to time spend the $7-$8 for those Brit sportbike mags with the half nekkid hotties.

Motorcycle Consumer News. It's like Consumer Report for motorcyclists. No advertising, no hotties, no BS. They test lots of bikes and products, and have plenty of how-to articles. With no advertising, the magazines are expensive, but the articles are unbiased.

T.W.O. (Two Wheels Only) is pretty good, it's a british mag. It seems that most of the good bike mags are british for some reason.

Cycle World isn't bad. I especially enjoy Peter Egan's column, and I like to read what Don Canet (the fast guy on the staff) has to say.

I don't really like Motorcyclist. Tim Carrithers is pretty good, but I don't care for the attitude of most of the other writers.

My favorite magazines are two from the UK...Superbike and Performance Bikes. The articles are more interesting, the editors are crazy, and they usually have pictures of naked women.

Superbike is by far my favorite magazine. However, at $8 an issue, no discount to subscribe, and my inherently cheap nature I often end up reading Sport Rider or Motorcyclist.

I love the British way of giving you the info in a language you can understand. American bike mags tend to get off on these mathematical tangents that don't mean anything to me: "the xyz has a 24.312 degree offset widget while the abc increased the widget angle to 24.318 degrees!" Who CARES? What does it mean? The Brits would put it more like this: "This bike is blazing fast and turns in like a fat man to a McDonalds, while the other bike plods along like a fatso after a Big Mac" Now, that I understand.

Speaking of British bike mags, what happened to Big Dave Sonsky? Haven't seen him in SB in a while.

:smilelol:

Why do others feel the need to be damn technical all the time...

Anybody catch Bostom winning Supermoto in X-Games? Awesome race!

RoadRacer X is a good read. A lot of cool pictures and racing info. I subscribed from the first issue. All the others, Cycleworld, Motorcyclist and Sport Rider were getting pretty lame, IMHO.
