Things that make you go hhhmmmm
Why don't motorcycle cops, local ones as well as CHP's, etc....wear full gear, or even some type of gear. All of the ones that I have ever seen or heard of, wear boots, lid, and maybe a jacket. I may be wrong on this, so if I am, feel free to correct me. All the local bike cops around here, wear boots, and half shell, gloves, and their regular uniform, no jacket unless its raining out. :ack:
Alittle trivia as well..I've heard that the reason they are called cops, is because their badges used to be made of copper ?? Maybe someone could verify the validity of that..

Correct on the Cops AKA Copper.
As for the gear you are exactly right and I have thought about that myself.
I was going to contact ICON or some other manufacture regarding about making a mesh type jacket were paches and the sort could be put on.
I am pretty sure there would be some of my coworkers who would be interested in a product.

I was talking with Officer Belli about that very thing.. He said that a big part of it is because of the heat in their vests. All the same, I think a flip up helmet would be perfect for their uses instead of the half helmet. As I see it, the LEO's (even you! :p) are public investments. As part of the public, I would prefer to see my investment better protected.

im with you guys...I can see point about the vests for sure..however a mesh would be breatheable enough, IMO...but im not an officer......still though...their lives are more in jeapordy than the average motorcyclist, IMHO..I mean being a cop makes you a target for idiots, and therefore I'd want all the protection I could get.
