I'm back! Pictures from my 18 day roadtrip... 56k be warned!!
Well as some of you may or may not know, back on May 12th I loaded up my beloved F4i with luggage and hit the road on an 18 day adventure, which ended up taking me a total of 5126.3 miles, and through 10 states. I left south Florida on Friday the 12th late in the day, then made my way up and out of Florida, through Georgia, then up Rt. 129 through the N. Georgia mountains and into North Carolina. Got to Deals Gap on the 14th and met up with my crew from here in SoFla (most of them went to Barber for a trackday that prior weekend). Stayed at the Fontana Village Resort on Rt. 28 about 9 miles from the Dragon, stayed there for 4 days and did TONS of riding all around there, which was AWSOME!!! Left there on the 18th, and while everybody else left back for SoFla, I left for Virginia Beach! Made it there my Friday afternoon, rode across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (for anyone that doesn't know what that is, it's a 24 mile long bridge that connects the Virginia mainland to the Eastern Virginia shore. It also has 2 underwater tunnels, each 1 mile long). Rode up Rt. 13 for a bit almost into Maryland, but not quite there. Came back and went to a friends house in Hampton, VA and stayed there for the night. Saturday morning head out to hit some more twisties, so I took Rt. 33 out of Richmond, through Virginia and across West Virginia, which was absolutely BREATHTAKING scenery and super nice roads!! Sunday I made my way up into Columbus, Ohio to visit a friend there and then shot across the rest of Ohio, Indiana, and into central Illinois to my sisters house. Next morning went up to Chicago to visit my mom for a couple days. First time she's got to see the bike, but she really liked it! Even wanted to go for a ride so I took her around the block in her neighboorhood for a bit. Wed made my way back down to central Illinois to my sisters house, stayed there until Friday, then went down to southern Illinois to Carbondale and met up with Fred (cbr04 from cbrforum.com... rides a 600RR) Hung out with him for a bit then back on the road, through Kentucky and most of Tennessee, where I stopped for the night just south of Nashville. Saturday made my way down to Atlanta, where I met up with Saba (Kewl Breeze from cbrworld.net... rides a 954RR), hung out with him then we both went and met up with Fred and his GF once again here in Atlanta. Got something to eat then got a grand tour of downtown Atlanta and surrounding areas which was pretty cool. Stayed there then sunday on the road again, and finally made it into my driveway safe n' sound by about 3:30 this afternoon. All in all, is was a F'ING AWSOME trip!!! Had a blast on the twisties in GA, NC, VA, and WV, got to see some old friends and even meet a few new ones too! I've gotta give mad props to my bike though, she ran like a friggin CHAMP!!! Not even so much as a hiccup the entire trip. She took me everywhere I wanted to go without question, in temperatures ranging from 41 degrees (or so they say... it felt colder, lol) on top of the Cherohala Skyway, to 95 degrees and blazing sun in the middle of Georgia, and just performed absolutely flawlessly!!
Anyways, before I keep babbling too much, I'm working on uploading my 376 pictures that I took. Also have 7 full MiniDV tapes from the GAP from my tankmount, but I can't really upload those. I'll be posting pics as soon as I get them finished!

Hmmm... it's hard to narrow it down to one specific thing, but it would probably have to be either my "oh ****" moment on the dragon, where I got a little too excited first thing in the morning on cold tires, and leaned a little too far, scraped the footpeg and the rear tire started to slide out from under me. Luckily it wasn't much though so I was able to stand it back up right away and keep going without incident. The other was on Refugee Rd in Columbus, OH when I almost got rear ended by an idiot that doesn't know what a red light or a row of stopped cars in front of them meant. The ride up the Cherohala Skyway was interesting too. Started out kick ass but about halfway up (it was overcast already out), we rode straight up into a cloud and couldn't see anything!! Temp also dropped to 41 degrees. Got to the top and could barely see each other... had to go about 30 mph just to stay on the road, lol. The whole trip was kick ass though!! Pics are almost done... been uploading for over 2 hours now and it's at 92%, so not much longer!

Pictures from my 18 day roadtrip... 56k be warned!!
Well believe it or not these 25 pictures are only a few from the 376 that I took. Of course I couldn't post them all so I just picked out a few from different places along the way, and then all the rest of them are in an album, which the link is at the bottom.
Enjoy!
Ok where do I start... Oh yea, at the beginning!
Friday 12th, bike all packed and ready to go
Rt. 129 in NC
Some guy riding by on a bicycle saw me taking pics and offered to take mine
Everybody at Fontana
Overlook at the top of the Dragon
I think this was along Foothills Parkway somewhere
Top of Cherohala Skyway... it was COOOLLLDDD!!!
Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
The next little "island" in the background is the continuation of the bridge, connected to the one I'm standing on by an underwater mile long tunnel right underneath where that big boat is about to go over. Pretty cool to ride through!
Met up with Travis from my Accord forum in Hampton, VA
Somewhere in WV
Went and saw my friend Joe in Columbus, OH
Then my mom up by Chicago, IL
Went and had breakfast with some old family friends out in north central IL
Then down to see my sister and her husband in central IL
Then met up with Fred from cbrforum.com in southern IL
Top of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN
Then met up with Saba from cbrworld.net in Atlanta, GA
Finally home at last
