Buell XB9SX Micron Exhaust

Best sounding Buell ever? Possibly. This is how a motorcycle should sound!

That's awesome. I am sold. Buells keep climbing my list of next bikes... I am going to hit the dealerships this weekend until I find one that will let me demo a Lightning.

Oh, and if you really want the lowdown... Check this link... http://www.americansportbike.com/
Click on the exhaust shootout... I downloaded it the other day... TONS of sound clips from various exhausts...

Not a frst bike, but somewhere down the line. I've only found one stealer that actually had a firebolt though- and that one was in pieces.

The Micron is the best pipe for performance with the right tune but for the $$$ and sound I am happy with my Oddie special, still that micron is a great pipe

Is that the Special Ops one? I cannot remember... I liked that one and the Drummer... Hell, I liked pretty much all of them, even the D&D... The Jardine sounded like poo though...

Did it sound better than this? I think the stock exhaust sounds good on them. But this Micron is beyond amazing as far as I'm concerned. It just sounds MEAN!

I prefer the scream of a I4, but that does sound gnarly.

Was it a download issue or a file compatibility issue? I could email it to you...

Not sure. I clicked 'open' and the IE window went to white and never stopped loading.

I'm pretty sure Buell still has a factory race pipe you can purchase...I dont know if it's Screaming Eagle or not tho.

BTW...the more I watch this video the more I love that Micron.

Buell discontinued the race kit. There may be a few left in stock though. You can still purchase the race ECM, but the kit as a whole is no more.

I can't get the vid here at work, but will check it out when I get home.
Microns do sound good.

I too have the Special Ops pipe from Odie, and I just love that sound.

No, the race pipe has been discontinued... You can still get them on eBay and some shops probably still have them in stock...

The Micron is sweet, but roughly twice the cost as the slip-ons with marginal performance difference... I cannot justify the cost of the full system... Plus, I have read that about half of the steering dampers out there won't work with the Micron headers.

Sport Rider had a xb12r test bike a while back with a full Sato system on it. I dont know how it sounded but they said they had to drop the engine to get the back header pipe on. That would suck.

my micron rocks!

i'm new to this forum, but i'm a regular on badweb. just stopped in to check it out....

my xb9sx has the micron/open airbox/ecm map from al at smerican sportbike and she rocks!! they have a new map that they just beta tested. i was probably the first person to have it and it's worlds apart from the first version.

which brings me to something very VERY important. if you have the first xb9sx/micron map from al, you need to make sure you have the new one. the first one is a little on the lean side....

like i said, it's all been tweaked and now my bike really screams.
