Cage or Sliders

I know BURN HIM!!!! Im trying to find out what sliders are the best, and whats the best cage?

On our post we have unused roads that make a lovely spot to do all the dumb chit that TWF hates and calls squidy! So a im thinking of getting a bike for this purpose and caging it up! Ofcourse unlike most I will be wearing at a minimum arm, leg, and chest/back protectors as well as helmet. I'll also have on a leather suit atleast untill i get good!

Any other recomended upgrades are greatly apreceated!

For sliders, and top brand name that consist of a base n a puck. Reason I say the 2 pc is so ya can just replace the puck if needed instead of having to the the whole set. And the 1 piece can snap off at the bolt. Avoid the no-cuts. Far as cages I'll let the stunters pipe in on those as I have no experience with them.

Cage definitely protects better and they are actually putting out race cages that work a lot better than sliders for track day people. If you are not wanting to tear this bike up and going to be stunting, get a cage, no question about it. Sliders aren't really meant to protect anything but the frame, a cage will protect a lot more.

As for what cage to get, maybe someone who stunts can give you a run down of companies.

Is there a company that makes the best?? I was thinking vortec, but if they're all the same i'd save money, and if there's something better i'd like to make sure i get that.

I understang that for this a cage is what I'll need, I want the sliders for my dayly rider

vortex sucks hard, what bike are you wanting it for? Different bikes have better sliders with different companies. The best way to find out is to go to a bike specific forum and ask them what crashes the best.

I made a thread about this and everyone flamed me... I am not planning on turning my bike into a fulltime stunter I just wanted them for insurance reasons just in case It drops again I wont be replacing everything again... I think I may end up getting the Race Rails this spring though Because I like the look and they look like they protect way better than the frame sliders. I Dont want to cut my fairings so anything that requires that I am not doing.

here is my old thread

They seem like they will provide superior protection just in case the unthinkable happens again.

Probly put it on the 00gsxr6! not to sure till i see how it rides, but i don't see myself finding anything older than that to be too stunt worthy, and my dayly rider will ofcourse be the newer of my two bikes! so yeah that one!

stunt cage will be better than race rails right? < i had a guy say that one was just as good as the other

gixxer.com most likely, we have a few gixxer riders though. Maybe fpzx or Rae can chime in on what sliders to get.

like i posted in Impala's thread, i like the race rails myself.
if they made them for my bike i'd get them.

not quite a cage but protects a lil more than just sliders.

i just recently bought 905 Race rails and they are better than the stunter cage cause they dont prevent your lean angle but will protect in case of a low side.. Havent installed them on my 02 GSXR600 but will post pictures when installed.. good luck on your decision
