A Few Questions...

Since I originally met my husband over four years ago he has always had the same bike...a 97 GSXR 750. Up until about six months ago (when he low sided at The Streets at WSIR) the bike has had a beautiful custom paint job so it always made me nervous when I was helping him get it on the stands because I was always afraid I would end up doing something that might scratch the paint...anyway...fast forward to about a month or two ago when my husband got a great deal on a 2001 (?I could be off by a year or two?) F4i. The bike had some problems (some he knew about and some unexpected) that he has finally gotten all fixed. Now he decided he just wants to sell the thing to get it off our patio. (yes...he keeps the thing on our patio ) The thing is he asked if I wanted to try riding it before he sold it. Now unlike his Gixxer which I was always "afraid" of this thing seems tiny! I sat on it and was not intimidated by it at all (unlike the Gixxer). So now I wonder...should I try it out?

A little background on me...my husband has an 05 Corvette which he lets me drive frequently. I love to drive that thing fast (He let me take it to an autocross day and I loved it!) BUT I do not like being the passenger when the thing is being driven on the track. Same kind of thing on the bike as far as I do not like being a passenger on the thing...so I am wondering if I will like being in control of the thing. It was something that I never really thought about until my hubby asked if I wanted to try it but now I am curious.

Oh yeah! The F4i has been laid down so there are already scratches in the paint.

So ladies please tell me your first experiences and how you got into riding. Also, is anyone in the same boat as me...does not like the be the passenger?

Sorry this was long and I hope it all makes sense...it has been a long day!

I think that you should sign up for a local MSF class. Its a great intro to riding and although it costs from 200-300 bucks depending where you are located, it is cheaper then if you drop your bike and hurt yourself and it. Every girl on here is most likely gonna tell you that they love it. Just keep in my that its alot of hard work and its easy to fail. Its when you rise above that failure that it makes riding so much more worth it!! Enjoy, and remember try new things and siese the day!!

She seems genuine to me.

Mrs. colleen, I also think you should take the MSF course first. Sure, it might cost money, but you will learn properly from the beginning. BUT, if you don't like riding and your hubby is selling the F4I cheap (and you live close to Indiana), I might be interested...

I've been riding since I was in college which was.....hmmmmm........25 years or so. I've owned many bikes, but my favorite was a Suzukie SV650. I really want to buy another one this year. I haven't had one for a couple of years and I miss it!!!!
