October 14.....ca Speedway

I'm in. I'll be in one of the garages at the back, anyone wanna join me on the AMA track at the CA Speedway with Fastrackriders?

Dlite, Jayfooey.........you're not that far away, you guys in? I'll have some family there with deli roastbeef, ham, & swiss for lunch with enough gatorade & bananas to keep us goin through the day.

If anyone else would like to hook up, send me a PM (if you aren't registered with TWF yet, register & drop me a line).

Oh, & DLITE........if you can make it & manage to stay in front of me, I'll have some great video footage of you.......he he he

How much is it?? I'm saving for a track day on Oct 21st. it'll cost me $175 because of a group buy, but if you can beat that price, i'll head out to CA for an AMA track.

The price is $259.00. There are 3 levels. Each level is 20mins on track per hour with no lunch break (having to wait 1 extra hour for lunch kinda bites in my opinion.......no pun intended). The staff are VERY friendly & helpful. You share a garage with (max) 4 other riders. It usually ends up being 2-3 riders. Plenty of room & there are electrical outlets for your tire warmers, fans, etc... If there is a race that weekend they'll even put it on the TV's in the garages (CA Speedway, that is).

There are 3 places where you can go WOT only to hit the brakes hard to set up for the turn ahead of you, turn 1 in particular.....a 3 part chicane. I intend to hit at least 170mph (indicated) before turn 1 this time. The 2nd open throttle is right after turn 4. You're on the throttle having just gone through a 90-100mph chicane & leaning left at 120, now, you see the cones & the white line & think, "am I going to loose traction while turning hard into turn 3?". You throw your knee out & flick it in hard with full traction looking at turn 4 & with a rush of adrenaline you flick it back over into the right & gradually open the throttle into a sweeping left up to 120-130mph & slam on the brakes again.

Are you with me so far? You drag your knee through a double apex & get on it again only to slow for another chicane & an intimidating right. After exiting turn 9 you set up for a 100mph chicane that can send you into a major speed wobble if you hit the rumble strip. Fearless you nail the proper line & go just left of it & continue on to hit 130-140mph. That's the third WOT straight...........the back straight.

To find out more about the excitement, join me. Like I said, I'll be in one of the garages in the back row.

D, Zort, Jayfooey............I know it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. PM me & we can set things up.

Bah.....wait for the tire warmers. I just read that you want to get your racing lincense before the '07 season. Wait til Feb for the warmers & spend the money now in CA . By the end of lap 1 on the track, your tires should be good & toasty

Lemmie know........

I got hit with a 50 page article to write (and get published) for one of my classes, so I doubt I'll have enough time to make this one.
