2007 MotoGP (preview, results, and discussion)

Since much of the discussion is moving towards next season I figured it was time to start a new thread (much like JK_DILLA's '06 thread).

"Let's get it started!"

Ilmors huh?
800's what?
team changes?!?!

From Looking at the Valencia test times the Suzuki 800 and Ducati 800's are on the boil. Rossi took the 2006 spec M1 to about a second faster during the test, but the HRC 800cc machines were actually slower than the Suzuki and Ducati's by half a second.

All the riders I heard interviewed said that the machines felt tiny and light, carried more corner entry and mid corner speed. That with lap times not being much slower than the 990's? What gives? Will this tip things towards the ex 250 GP riders?

And what will they run like with a whole winters worth of tinkering?

The 250GP guys always get more looks than the superbike guys. The superbike style probably wont suit the 8's as it didnt suit many of the 990's. Or atleast that is the prevailing attitude. But wasnt it, one-off rider, Troy Bayliss (a "lowly" superbike champ) that spanked the field! The talented guys will adapt to any bike. Rossi was great on a 2 stroke and great on a 4 stroke. Good thread KH- this one should be HUGE!

This thread will be where I get a lot of information from. Mad people are changing bikes and all that. Great thread here, and the old one JK made.

I'm pretty sure he's already been repped for this one. And JK for the other one.

I think I repped JK a number of times for that thread, he had lots of consistent good input. He set the bar high, we'll see if I can stand up to the pressure.

Your link is to the news section of GP.com. interesting to read that one article how Rossi put in the fastest times on the 800's yesterday though. Only two seconds off his pole setting 990cc lap on Saturday.

Link us directly to the specs.

Interesting that it is a V-4. Was the 990cc bikes V-4 as well? Honda already has production 800cc V-4, the interceptor. Too bad its not a SS though.

300 f'n lbs! Damn. Rossi put in a 1:33:10 and Capirossi put in a 1:33:11, both unofficially. Hayden put in a day leading 87 laps on the 800cc bike he was sharing w/ Pedrosa, who put in 73 laps. Rossi put in 43. Stoner put in 77.

These guys are insane. 87 laps. I'd be sore as fu8k after that. Someone tell hayden he's the champ. Take some time off to booze it up and bang sluts.
