Thumbs up ATTN: Hallett Riders!

Thought I would repost the latest newsletter from Connie at Hallett. Pretty exciting news! This is a great track and it just keeps getting better!

Quote:
Hey, Hallett Riders,

Well, here we are in a foot of snow, a good time to reflect on last season and prepare for the next. We certainly want to thank all Hallett Riders, as well as your friends and families, for your enthusiasm and support in 2006. We are planning for even more MLDs in 2007. The schedule is on the website, but here's the tentative MLD list of dates: Mar 17-18, April 7-8, April 22, June 2-3, June 17, July and August not decided yet, Sept 1-2 Appreciation days, Sept 23, Oct 21, Nov 17-18.

In July 06 we tried a new rejuvenation product on the entire track with great success; several track records were broken after that project and planning is now underway for

>>>>New in 2007>>>> repaving corners 2 and 3, the straight between turn 6 and 7 along with corners 7, 8, and 9. We are also planning to repave the entire pit lane. The infield road from the grandstands at turn 9 to turn 3 will be widened and paved to make lower paddock access more user-friendly to all riders. Of course, this huge project is dependent on approval of our loan application. We also intend to do wireless internet and a FM radio station to complement our PA system and add weekly advertising to the Cimarron Turnpike.

Wait, there's more!!!! We are offering an advertising opportunity to bike shops, tire/ parts dealers, restaurants, hotels, medical suppliers, etc.----- to help us get an air fence permanently in place. For a one-time fee of $400 (our cost) you can have your logo on a 4 x 8 barrier. If you or anyone you know is interested, please contact us immediately. We would like to have the air fence in place by the first MLD if at all possible. With an air fence you can go both directions on all the two-day events!

. . . and another project underway is a new winners' circle. We want to get the word out to you now as a possiblity for a holiday gift. For $100 you can purchase a brick. $500 gets you a large block on the winners' circle wall with larger print. i.e.
In loving memory of our dad,
John Smith 1935 - 2004
from Mary, Joe, Mike
or
CMRA Champion 2001
Rick McGillum
Pro #406
Of course, another holiday suggestion is a gift certificate for an MLD 2007 entry. Drop a hint to someone who is trying to find that perfect gift for you. Or maybe you have a brother, sister, dad, cousin, etc. who has been thinking about participating in an MLD.

It's time to sign up for an MLD sponsorship. Contact us for details. [email protected] or Scott at 918-583-1134.

Following is the list of the HART year-end drawing held at our last MLD. We appreciate all you HART attendees and congrats to all the winners. To claim your prize, please e-mail us your current mailing address. We hope to see you again next year. Ride safe, from Paul and all the HART instructors

Thanks to our Nov 19th Sponsor, Bird’s Eye Photography, for all the great photos, posters, and CDs. As this "newsletter" is written with an attitude of gratitude, we thought it would be appropriate to share a sample of the winning messages of thanks that we oft receive. The following would be a good message to share with any of your friends that are thinking about coming to Hallett for a Motorcycle Lapping Day.

"I just wanted to drop you a note to let you and the Stephens organization know how much I appreciate what you are doing for the sport of motorcycling. It is great to have a place to come and ride at whatever pace I am comfortable with, at a facility that is so well set up, maintained and managed. I also appreciate that you do so much to insure the safety of the riders and that there is medical help readily available in the event of a fall. I have contact with a lot of the street riders here in Wichita and encourage them to come down and learn how to really ride their bikes right, instead of doing stupid things on the street.

I have been coming down to Hallett since it opened in 1976 as both a competitor and as a spectator. I came down for the MLD for the first time a year ago in October and did not really know what to expect. This has been the most bang for the buck that I have ever received. Keep up the good work and I hope I can continue to come down for many more years. Thank you very much, Joe Prouse #305"

Again, Hallett riders, thanks for a great 2006 season and wishes for a blessed December. We will be in touch as soon as a day weather-appropriate for bikes comes up. Watch for Hallett emails!

The Stephens and the HART team

Sure would be cool to see the TWF logo on the barrier, especially if I saw it while attending the TWF sponsored track day.

Oh, and off the topic, I like how the post sanitizer butchered the name of that Japanese brand suit. I guess they'll have to change their name to "Kustuffani" if they ever want to advertise here?

Actually, I had never heard of it before, but just today I saw them mentioned in Sport Rider. They said they are "regal" among gear makers, and even have their own cows to procure leather!
