Went to the track yesterday and it was awesome, as usual. I got to sample the Pilot Races this time around and it was a big difference. There was four of us from 702sportbikes.com, but two were in the class to get their WERA racing license, so most of the day it was my buddy, on a '03 636, and me battling it out. We had the ultimate battle, where we both passed each other probably about 3-4 times. I thought I got it all on tape, but the damn tape ran out and I got nothing. There is some tank cam footage still, but not the ultimate session. Here are some pics. More to come as more lazy ass people finally post them up...
Road trip! She gets so excited.
The bikes. The F3 was the only bike pictured that wasn't riding on the track
Me and my girl on the way there. Thanks, babe!
Here's the wreck I talked about. My buddy, Paul, wrecked during the mock race at lunch time. He was gaining on the 2nd place guy when he went down. He low-sided on the left side, but when it hit the dirt, it flipped over to the right side. Oh, he didn't paint those plastics. He got them for 150 bucks because the paint was so gay on them. Pretty good deal for brand new Cheeta plastics.
I just passed the Kawi...
I know they're DOT race tires, but this makes me feel good.
My buddy Aaron's bike. He was the one I was battling with all day.
The best photo the guy took of me all day. I plan on buying all the pics he took of me, so expect those in a week or so. Or don't.
Like I said, more to come, including tank cam footage...
All in all, it was an awesome day. This will be my last one for over a year probably.
