2008 Moto GP Tipping Comp, Round 2 Jerez

WELCOME BACK SPORTS FANS!!!!
Thats how they say it on the telly, isn't it??

Round 2, Jerez, Spain.

Jerez is a circuit that has been a constant on the MotoGP calender. A great track, usually great weather, resurfaced in 2005, so plenty of time to get used to the new surface, I think the teams do testing here.......
So what does this all mean??/

NO EXCUSES!! THATS WHAT!!
Last round contained a number of firsts! First time under lights for anyone being the biggie! This time, there's nothing that should be any surprise to anyone. Any long time stagers that get thier butts handed to them by the rookies should start thinking about barber college!
Tips Close 1900 (Thats 7PM for you non-military types) local time in Jerez, a full 2 hours after the finish of the second practice on Friday, 28 March.

19:00:00 Friday March 28, 2008 in Europe/Madrid converts to
05:00:00 Saturday March 29, 2008 in Australia/Sydney
11:00:00 Friday March 28, 2008 in America/Los_Angeles
14:00:00 Friday March 28, 2008 in America/New_York

( If anyone wants to convert the time for thier location, or wants to check my work, http://www.timezoneconverter.com/)

My Picks
1. Stoner
2. Rossi
3. Lorenzo (How anyone could be unimpressed with his effort last round is beyond me!)

Two weeks, all. Get your tips in!!

1 Lorenzo
2 Stoner
3 Hayden-- hey Jerez is a VERY good track for him and did very good in testing, and now he will be on the 08 bike for sure.

Hard to not put pedrosa on there but i really htink when nicky has a bike he can get along with hes among the best there is, and Dani still makes young rider mistakes.

Only a week away and I can't decide...I am going to have to sit on it till FP.
I am looking at 5 very strong riders and 2 teams of veterans that can explode at any time...Looks to be an exciting season then,...

Here's the winning pics...

1. Stoner - Sets the course record in the first 5 laps...

2. Rossi - He'll take a lot of risks to get podium. I hope he doesn't push it too hard!

3. Toseland - Did you see that pass in round 1? He's got a screw loose!

Lorenzo!
Rossi!
Stoner!

I gotta say though Edwards, Hayden, and Pedro will be spoilers. They will factor but I dunno how.

Couldbe a GREAT round.

Toseland is sick with bronchitis... so that will be interesting to see how he is doing by tomorrow.

Hayden has a fair chance this time, give the boy the HP of the Duc, Kawi or Yami and he should be a lot more in the chase...
Kawi was actually the fastest top speed i bleeive.. i'd say they have the best engine at this point...just not the rest the bike.
Tomorrow is gonna be one of the best races of the year though.

JK, What are you doing to me? By my PC, you got in about 8 1/2 hours late. If I'm seeing something wrong, please let me know (Hey, it's early here, and it was a late night of GP watching!), but at this stage, I can't take your tips, and you'd have been the pick of the round

Results are below... if you don't want to know, dont scroll down!

Not sure what happened with Casey, but his front end just didn't want to work. Dani cleared out, and there were a few decent scuffles going on behind him. Good to see the Master back on the podium!

But now, the Important bit!
Results for round 2 (Round one + this round = current score)
Chuck (Me) 15 + 15 = 30
Smileyman 13 + 13 = 26 (nice consistency!)
MadKawi 15 + 5 = 20
Z06boy 10 + 10 = 20
Jodepaha 0 + 10 = 10
JK Dilla 10 (woulda got 17, for a second placed 27)
Trip 10
Pickle of Doom 10
ScottSellersUNR 0 + 5 = 5
Ebbs15 5
Rider 5
NoneTooSoft 0

Race results
1. Pedrosa
2. Rossi
3. Lorenzo

Stoner dissapointed me. And ruined my tip. If he only had the presence of mind and maturity to allow his front end to come to him rather than pushing so hard on the first laps...Sour grapes...

Looks like Honda's robotic rider program is working well though. Consistent 1'40"'s and 1'41"'s through race distance! Pedro knows Jerez!
