2008 MotoGP Tipping Comp round 3 Portugal

Hi All, Sorry I'm late
No big speils this week,
Estoril is a tricky track, it's got a long straight which will suit the faster bikes, as long as they can pull up at the end of it (unlike Casey last round!)

Pedro-bot
Rossi-fumi
Stoner

Looks like a dry race and am a fool to make predictions before 2nd practice, but...Nicky and Lorenzo could spoil this one and I can't wait to see if Toseland and Edwards show up on pneumatic valvers!

Yup. Last minute but I am bumping Stoner for Lorenzo...

1. Pedrosa
2. Rossi
3. Lorenzo

Still looks to be a dry race and the Yamaha boys are all armed with pneumatics. Toseland and Edwards should be fun too watch!

Smileyman takes the lead!!

Hi All, Sorry I'm late, but I had to fly away on business. I only got to watch the race last night.

Whatever problem Casey had seemed to clear a little later in the race, but not good enough. Rossi had a good run, but it seems he can't match the pace of his teammate. A good race with some good moments back in the pack.

Smileyman and Jodepaha both picked all three podium places, but not in the right order, for 15 points apiece. This is enough to put Smileyman in First place by 1 point. Well done Unless Casey makes some drastic improvements next race, I may actually have to start thinking about my tips!.

Rider, My machine has you as 13 minutes late. Sorry, Mate, but I have to disregard your pics. Once again, if there's a stuff up due to my time conversion, or you had your tips in on time, but they didn't show up on the forum until shortly after, let me know, and I'll add them in, but otherwise.......

But now, the Important bit!
Results for round 3 (Round two + this round = current score)
Smileyman 26 + 15 = 41
Chuck (Me) 30 + 10 = 40
MadKawi 20 + 10 = 30
Jodepaha 10 + 15 = 25
Z06boy 20
JK Dilla 10 + 10 = 20
Trip 10
Pickle of Doom 10
ScottSellersUNR 5
Ebbs15 5
Rider 5 + 0 = 5 (Woulda got 10, for a total of 15)
NoneTooSoft 0

Podium was
1. Lorenzo
2. Pedrosa
3. Rossi

Stoner's problem apparenetly was that his lipstick sized onboard camera had come unvelcro'ed and was flopping around loose on his clutch lever...You know the one that most riders really don't touch at all after initial launch. I think he mighta been ditracted for a lap or so until he tucked it in, but definitely wasn't his main problem.

Perhaps with the slow/late tippers and odd personal schedules we might opt to throw out the years worst tip finish or ommission as a mulligan? I wouldn't be opposed as I missed two tips last year due to moving and know how easy it is to forget. I personally have no problems with the time conversion so...

I got real lucky this week, spotting some stuff in 2nd practice that made me doubt Stoner and look to Lorenzo. I was quite happy Sunday when i saw all my pics qualified on the front row!

Sorry for the ignorance, do they have track days for cars in that track in Estoril. I'll be in Portugal soon.
