Qatar MotoGP: Results!

1) Rossi
2) Hayden
3) Capirossi
4) Gibernau
5) Stoner

Edwards was back in like, 8th. Hayden actually took the lead from Rossi with maybe 4 laps to go, and Rossi looked behind him like he had trouble. Then he put his head down and passed Hayden rather easily. Great race!

Great Race
Really impressed by Nicky Hayden! Every passing manoevre seemed to last 2 or 3 corners as first Capirossi, then Stoner, then Rossi got passed, then came back, then got passed again (Rossi the exception, obviously!!)

GO CASEY!!!! After a less than perfect start to the weekend, (Flu, Missed fights, etc!), Pole Position, and leads for the first 15 or so laps! Wonder if his tyres went off!
Both Suzuki's went off with mechanical problems. Poor old JH must be thinking "Here we go again!!", while I'm guessing Chris must be kicking himself right about now!!

125s and 250s were both great races! Paint swapped in the last lap dashes in the 125s, great stuff!

Bring on the next one!!

AMAZING RACE!

I was happy to see Hayden make that pass on lap 18, but I knew it wouldn't hold... maybe if he pulled it off on the 21st lap he might have gotten away with it.

I mean, we knew Rossi wanted this one badly, and what Rossi wants, Rossi gets. Also, didn't it look like the Yamaha was outperforming the Honda? They were running the same tires I think, but I think the engine was running a little better in the Yammy..... just my

Quick question... Does anyone know of any Torrent sites for MotoGP races? That would be sweet.... maybe if someone has the races from this season in digital format we can seed it enough to get it out there.... I would love to have this season on my computer.... I can tell theres going to be some good races this year.

Enjoy the season everyone

Get a tv tuner card and record them yourself, I do. I recommend the hauppauge 500 MCE if you don't have HD. Hell, I even have a program that removes the commercials, so I can burn it directly to DVD.

Thanks for the suggestion Vol! I got DirecTV though... is that like a cable tuner card? or just a standard audio/video input device?

I'll be building a new computer soon, but I know I won't be done in time for the next race (a little tight on funds at the moment). I already got myself a DVD burner, so I'll be looking forward to that.... wish we could get better coverage though

Just hook a cable in from your directtv and whammo you got directtv on your comp. You will have to look into what pvr program works best with your comp. GBPVR is a good free one, but there are some better pay ones that will remove commercials a lot better.

That card is nice because it has a dual tuner that will let you watch one channel and record another or use PiP. There are some cheaper ones that are single tuners the hauppauge 150 is a nice cheap single tuner.

Awesome!

Thanks for the links... $150 shipped isn't such a bad deal for something that will get so much use... especially with the dual tuner capability.... I'm sure I can find some good PVR software. How big did this Qatar race come out to be? You think you could upload it to my FTP hehe

I'll drop the technical stuff, and the PVR/tuning stuff so this thread stays on topic... but if you got any more suggestions... PM me, or email me or whatever.

Thanks again for the link!

Yeah, I record at hi res, so we are talking in the gigs range. It would take me a long long time to upload with my upload rate even considering it is high speed.

Good race. If you want better coverage and no commercials and live races just spend the $30 on the motoGP site and watch all the races there.

Good suggestion, but my connection at works sucks, and streaming anything is hell on earth. I like the PVR idea though.... I wish there was a motorcycle channel. That would be sweet

The Out Door Channel was trying to get the races and other motorcycle shows. It might take a few years but, Wright your TV provider and let them know what you want and get all you friends to do it too. Have to prove interest.

I'll just make a template and put their names on it... plus about 100 or 200 random names from the phone book!

One of the major problems facing all motorsports is the simple fact that none of them generate as much revenue as NASCAR. SPEED used to have airplane racing, boat racing, all sorts of awesome race coverage, up until the NASCAR boom of the late 90's. Once NASCAR blew up and turned into the beast that it is now, it generated them way too much money.

If motorcycle racing had as much of a following as NASCAR it would get equal airplay without question. Its basic economics at this point. I think what would be awesome would be a motorcycle channel on the internet. I think it would be quite successful to get an internet tv channel with on demand and all that noise for good motorsports like MotoGP!!!

Any takers?? I'm smart
