SILVERSTONE WSBK [results]

May 26-28 2006

RACE 1- The first corner took out a large chunck of the field. Corser and Barros included. Nice move by Barros who had to jump over his flaming bike as it came sliding at him. Corner 2 took out two more and in less than a lap the race was red flagged and restarted. Corser DNF; after the crash in turn one, he later crashed in the chicane, picked it up, made a few turns and pitted. Haga was strong but bayliss takes his 6th win in a row.

RACE 2- Once again polesitter Tommy Hill got a bad start and Chris Walker got and excelent start to hold off Haga and Bayliss early in the race. They diced, sometimes going three wide in places they shouldnt, and passing eachother often. Eventually Walker couldnt hold the Yamahas' and Ducatis' pace and fell off to finish 8th. Toseland picked up solid points and Barros with a hideous start, finished 5th. Troy Bayliss picks up his 7th consecutive WSBK win and leads the championship with 225 points. Points runner up is troy Corser with a distant 149.
