Nitrous Systems - What do you think?

How do you guys feel about Nitrous systems? There are several systems out there and new ones on the way. Some of these appear to be pretty sophisticated.

Does anybody have any input on what they like or dislike about nitrous systems for our sport?

Thanks!

Which sport? Dragging or street riding? It only makes sense if you're dragging bikes IMO. I can respect it, but you will never see one on my bike. I like twisties too much.

DLITALIEN,

What I was thinking of was both. I love opinions so let me know why you wouldn't think it would be good for street.

I just don't see it useful for the street. Plus a HUGE ticket would suck. The places i ride don't have very long straights between twisties anyway. There'd be no use for it. I'd rather spend the money on race leathers and plastics and hit up track days. Going in a straight line is boring. Plus when i get my R1 (still don't know when), I'm sure it'll have enough balls for me.

Thanks for the feedback. Ya, I can understand if you have a lot of curves you might not want to have it, but then again, if you were passing, that might be sweet. Plus, pulling out of a curve with a 30hp shot might be interesting!

what kind of bike is the NOS going on? how much riding experience do you have? How much money do you wanna spend? Wet or Dry? If you're drag racing you'll also wanna consider lowering and stretching to compensate for the extra tendency to wheelie too.

When I wake up in the morning I piss excellence.

I haven't got the street bike yet, but I am looking. I've got about 5 years of street bike experience, 10 years of ATV experience, and about 5 years of dirt bike experience, with a bit of sled experience. I am in the motorsports industry. As far as wet or dry, I really dont care for the way the current definitions of those systems are written. The way I look at it, if you are adding extra fuel to compensate for the nitrous shot, then its all good. Wet systems (by definition) use an extra fuel pump and put the nitrous & fuel in a fogger. Im not sure thats always the best, especially since there are injectors that can be boosted to equal the nitrous shot. Im in research mode, thus thinking outloud and getting thoughts from you guys that are the experts in what might work and might not work.

More input is a good thing!

and I still don't think it would be a good idea for the twisties as DL said. Cause it could cause you to come in too hott into the corner..making you brake and slide the front down..

no use in corners.. and really on the street.. i was ognna get a dry sytem for mine buto nly to spray on the strip.
And remember, with facotry swingarm and tire.. u are only gonna be able top spray it in like 4th gear up..

DRY system is the fogger... Wet injects at the injector.

I know a guy who also has a Z1000 and the 20 shot lights up the rear in third at 80MPh...Fairly low RPM.... he decided not to install the 40 shot jet at all because it weas too dangerous on stock traction setup.

A 600 will be a lil more forgive of a nitorus shot though. And if u spray at 80mph....how fast will u be going at the end of the spray? The ocnsequences on the street of using it are high.
and if u only spray 4th gear your not gonna get as big of a ET gain at the strip as a car spraying the whole way out, and u cant do the same like a car.... a 20 shot on a thousand might buy u half a second... for a lot of motor wear and cost down the road. Buy a bike, do the bolt on mods and it will have all the balls u need...

u spray a bike leaned in a corner and you WILL wreck

This pretty much sums it up...other than the R1 part. Which I have no plans for.
