BMW Buys Husqvarna

Article Link Here

They say that Husky will remain independent, but I think this is only good for BMW. They can learn a lot and hopefully some cool bikes will come out of this. Maybe a single cylinder BMW supermoto?

I thought they already owned Husky...

So many merging companies and rumors of more... it gets confusing...

Yeah I think you're right. All small engines. But I think BMW can tak advantage for some of their dual-purpose bikes, and maybe Husky will graduate to bigger and more substantial bikes...

Husky also makes supermotos. Hopefully with BMW's financial backing, Husky can get the parts supplies issues straightened out.

BMW's building a liter superbike.

They've been testing a mule for quite sometimes now but vehemently denied it was just for developing new technologies and not for racing. Kind of like denying buying Husky until the deed was done. But now they've confirmed (MCN confirmed it too) that they're introducing an I-4 liter superbike called Project 190/190 - 190-hp and 190-kilogram (418-lbs) for sales and there will be a race version for WSB.

It's been about fifty years since BMW itself is competing in road races against other marques. But it had made the return this year by running modified R1200S bikes at the European world endurance race (debut at Le Mans). And now WSB (and maybe AMA Superbike too?).

i wish there was little more to choose from besides the big four...not that the big four make bad bikes just that it seems like there is room for some more "price friendly" 600RRs...id like to see BMW, KTM, and Husky make some decent looking 600s
