Engine torque & boxers

I've ridden quite a few BMW's now, but I've never owned one. I was seriously considering an R1150RT about 18 months ago and wound up not following through. One thing I did notice it the 'torque steer' for lack of a better term due to the boxer engine design.

Is this something the BMW crew lives with or is it just not that noticeable? I'm thinking I noticed it on the RT because I was looking for it.
