new tail

Im looking to see if any one has changed an 04-06 f4i tail to an 01-03 f4i tail. i need also to see if any one knows a painter in the nashvile area. i want to change the color of my bike too.

You have to change the subframe. I have looked at doing that mod to my '04 F4i. The bodywork won't fit unless you use the '01 to '03 subframe

Must be something to it if they both wanna do it. Maybe the old one had the 2 piece seat. The new ones have a one piece.

That's It! The '01 to '03 bikes have the split seats...I have thought about adding the '03 tail and cowl to my bike...

It is strickly a cosmetic change...also an expensive one...

That's why I haven't done it...

Thats the sole reason I don't like the newer ones. I dont like the look of the 1 piece seat.

And that "look" is why people have decided the new F4i's are "good starter bikes"

People see that big seat and label the F4i as a sport tourer

They are more comfortable to ride with that "banana" seat...but that seat doesn't affect their performance...
