RC51 / sp2

Hi.

Anybody have any experience with the honda rc51 (think its the sp2 in europe)?

If yes is it to old or is it a great bike to ride?

What is your experience?

GREAT bike! We have 2, an 01 and an 06. I actually find it very comfortable to ride. Its a bit heavier than my gsxr but I REALLY love it.

Me after riding my friend's RC51:

The ergonomics are sadistic and they are heavier than a comparable I4, but being a twin they are more ridable (read: torque curve like a picnic table) and () are one of the most race worthy bikes off the showroom floor. If you plan to do mostly local fun rides and track days, I highly recommend the RC.

Was '06 the last year of the RC51? I don't see an '07 on their website.

I'd rock one, for sure. What are we down to for new 1000cc twins? The 1098 and the SV1000? No thanks, on both accounts.

The RC51 is a race bike first and foremost. If you want comfy with a similar engine, try Honda's SuperHawk. The 996 VTR is a fantastic bike.

Never rode one of those but I know Pickle loves his and would agree. The RC51 (01) is the first and olny twin I've ridden, just WOW, love it.

plus not alot of people (from where I'm from) have one so you'd stand out. Plus the exhaust is pretty sweet. Although I prefer the exhaust tone of an inline 4.

Well, I'd love one, for certain. It's just way out of my price range.
